Always failed to understand all the fuss about him.

Reckon if he was on X Factor he wouldn't get past the auditions but then I was never a Mod. R

A Secret Hideaway In the caravan of love

He was better when he was in the Style Council, don't like his new stuff.

Total legend for 30 years.

Took The Jam out at the top. Singles entering at Number One when it meant something, and for many the most important band of a generation.

Reinvented himself with the Style Council.

Down and dropped by the record labels before finding himself again and went back to the top. Nine albums out. All Top Ten and only two out of the top 2 spots.

Anti racist when it wasnt fashionable, anti Thatcher at the peak of Tory rule. Lyrics that change your life and leave you shaking your head.

Top drawer.

Down In The Tube Station at Midnight was a keystone in British music and delivered such a punch with it's haunting lyrics - but what makes the song that much more potent is that from then to now, not much has changed really has it.

Paul Weller? True talent.

Merseyside

The word genius is often bandied about too much in the music industry but in Wellers case it is full deserved.

Top bloke with truly fantastic talent

Must admit we love all his work but the Jam stuff has got to be the best Pretty Green being the best of all closly followed by wall come tumbling down by the council.
