If I was looking for younger men I'd be looking for the same as in older men.

Attraction first and foremost which would need to be enthusiastically mutual

Respect, again mutual

Common ground

Understanding

Not viewing me as a tick box or bucket list item

The number of posts I've seen recently say ' I've never *had* an older woman' make me cringe.

"What do mature ( best word to use?) ladies look for in a younger lad?"

Personally I don't care what word you use to describe my age I am older. I am mature. Just don't say 'female' or 'girl'.

I greatly dislike the term mature.

It's only use is to describe cheese.

This was the first thing that it threw up ...

so take it with a shovel load of salt thrown on top

Historical Context of Age Gap Relationships

Age gap relationships have been a part of human history for centuries, shaped by various social, economic, and evolutionary factors.

Evolutionary Influences

Fertility and Stability: Older men are often attracted to younger women due to perceived fertility and the ability to bear children. This preference is rooted in evolutionary psychology, where youth is associated with reproductive potential.

Resource Seeking: Conversely, women may prefer older partners who can provide resources and stability, reflecting a desire for security in raising children.

Social and Cultural Factors

Historical Norms: Throughout history, societal norms have often accepted or even encouraged relationships with significant age differences, particularly where older men marry younger women. This was often linked to the need for producing heirs and ensuring family lineage.

Changing Perspectives: In modern times, views on age gap relationships have evolved. While some still face societal judgment, there is increasing acceptance of diverse relationship dynamics, including those with larger age differences.

Current Trends

Statistics: Recent data indicates that age disparities in relationships are still common, with a notable percentage of couples having age gaps of 10 years or more. This trend reflects ongoing shifts in societal attitudes towards age and partnership.

Understanding the origins of age gap relationships reveals how deeply ingrained these dynamics are in human society, influenced by both biological imperatives and cultural evolution.

Woman really is a useful word when referring to any woman over 18. It honestly doesn't need qualifying according to age

That’s why I’m asking what would women prefer. As a younger lad, who’s mature for my age, hate using the term but what can you replace it with?

If you’re referring to me, I’m in the real world, I’m more mature than most 25 year olds. Worked since I was 16, paid bills since I was 16. Not all younger lads live in a fantasy world on here and have no responsibility’s in the ‘real world’. It’s quite a shame you see it that way as I have worked for what iv got and that’s partly why I think I prefer ladies not my age.

You may find that some of the problem is that the "mature" ladies you seek have kids your age which put a lot of them off.

You know men twice your age complain about being thrown to the side because they're too old.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say you want to see if it's worth going for what you like, it's always worth it but that doesn't mean you'll achieve it.

Look for women that you're attracted to, tick the box in the search for ' I'm the age they're looking for' and contact them.

Don't ask women to 'give you a chance' it gives off entitlement and questions their preferences.

I would also have a think around your user name if I were you.

I genuinely wish you good luck.

Best of luck chap..

I can relate to this in so much as .. I fancied older women , at and around your age..

This significant difference is pub's and clubs ... was where on occasion, my youthful lusts, lead to finding my Mrs Robinsons.

If it can happen all those years ago for me then no reason for it to be to differing for you

I expect reliability from younger and anyone else. I also appreciate good stamina and ability to recover more quickly, to go again.

There are some things that are essential and non-negotiable, being trustworthy and honest and fit enough, as well as mutually compatible.

I find younger men generally good for fitness, stamina, strength and having a great sex drive. If they have a mature outlook, then I'm ready to talk

Niche

Regardless of maturity or situations, it's an inescapable reality that life stages will not align so I do not begin or seek out connections with anyone younger than late 30s.

Also I do not find younger facial features attractive and it's rare to find a younger fella with rugged looks so it's fairly unlikely that I will have this as a problem.

I get not wanting to be called 'girl' when you're a grown ass woman but what's wrong with the word 'female'? There's a thread that asks "Which female celebrity would you love to have sex with". Forget the childish nature of the thread, which word should the starter of that thread used instead of 'female'?

Woman would do for me. I don't have a problem with 'female celebrity' or 'female police officer' for instance I don't like being referred to as 'the female' or reading things like 'looking for a female'. Other people don't mind it

Ahhhh, ok. I understand. Not a fan of Friday Night Dinner then? 🙂"

I

I've never seen it .

"What do mature ( best word to use?) ladies look for in a younger lad?

Personally I don't care what word you use to describe my age I am older. I am mature. Just don't say 'female' or 'girl'.

The problem I have with female, is that it reduces women to the reproductive categorisation of the species. You have a male and female of every species - even plants have male and female components which relate to their role in reproduction. By reducing someone to their reproductive role it dehumanises them.

I know the site asks us to categorise ourselves by male or female so we have no choice, but to select the one we feel we are most closely aligned to, but that doesn't mean we have to like it.

Once you’re with a mature woman, nothing will ever seem as good in comparison. X

Nicecouple561 has given me her explanation, which I understand, would you also be OK with 'female celebrity' or 'female police officer'. If not, what would be your preferred alternative?

I understand your view point but I have an opposing perspective on oneself.

I've met real men, think father or uncle, the man you looked upto or was your rock at some point that was able to accomplished things that seemed impossible.

I don't lack confidence as such, but feel imposterous and slightly pretentious calling myself a man ♂️
