One of my resolutions was to stop biting my nails, and I'm struggling. Kate has suggested a visit to see her manicurist to have falses fitted until my nails grow. She says that it will help me loads, cos thats what some of you lady's do. I'm thinking it's a bit poofy Will it help me, and is it poofy

Assuming you are wanting a serious answer....

It may solve the problem in the short term but when they're removed it will make your nails weak and brittle for ever.

Try using nail strengthening products if you're really struggling.

And for the record .... nooooooo - its not acceptable!

You'll just bite the false ones won't you? They might not taste so good though I suppose.

Keep thinking you've just wiped your bum and haven't washed your hands. That should stop you biting them!

or become a motor mechanic once you have all the shyte that collect on cars under your nails and you bite then for the first time and get that taste in your mouth, believe me ( an ex car mechanic) it is a peach way to teach you not to bite your nails, i've never bitten mine since the age of 17 i'm now 54 ( and before you all star about (ohmg how long are they) i do trim them regularly) as for false nails i think whats said about them becoming weaker when removed is worthy of remembering and brittle too.

Not the sort of thing you expect a fella to do but if they are applied properly nobody would ever know.

Not expecting you are suggesting to have them long and painted red!!

When they are removed they are weak but once the nail grows again they will be back to normal. All ready for you to bite again lol x x

You can get some stuff that you apply like nail varnish (but I don't think it's glossy) it tastes vile so therefore supposed to stop you biting your nails, can get it from Boots (own brand maybe?)

false nails are ok but the nails underneath will come through as soft and are quite tender

if you have a tendancy to bite you will pick at the false nails too

the motivation not to bite em, is to get back at the ladies who have clawed my arse

Anyway, just cos I've got a Freddy Mercury tash, and thinking about false nails, that don't make me camp,

Back of Beyond

I too bite them from time to time and not thought about doing that! Mind you I have found many ladies quite like the lack of nails when using fingers internally! No chance of scratching the delicate bits

weekly trip to have a manciure would help and then you will see the benifets. it would be reason not to want it to go to waste and be nice treat for hands as well.

This worked for me was a nail biter for 30+ years and hated myself for it. Went for a manicure before a job interview because I felt so self concious about it. The lady there tidied them up and applied the yucky tasting stuff.

It worked a treat not bitten them for years.

Good luck

Mike

It is more gay than Freddie Mercury dressed in a pink cat suit drinking an umbrella laden fizzy cocktail on a bed of silk cushions and gold curtains being fanned with feathers by toga clad youths.

Here is an old remedy which is 100% guaranteed to give any claw gnasher the most beautiful nails.

Each morning when you get up , pee into a dish. Dip each nail into the urine and let it dry.

That's it...... I promise you very long nails if you do this.

Thanks for the support folks, I've got through January and my nails look much better than they used too. Hopefully I will get through another month, and by then perhaps I will be winning the battle.

We will be at the social in May and at Skeggy in October so come and see how I've done

IMHO, nail vanish, including clear ones, or false nails on a gentleman is rather too gay for me.
