Just dashed out to help Jayne get some washing off the line as it started to rain, and noticed that the pegs were colour-coded to whatever they were holding.

Thought it was just coincidence, but made a joke about it, only for Jayne to reply "Of course I do!"

I have to hang the washing a certain way- nothing to do with OCD, just basic engineering, equalised strain on either side of the prob and also allowing sufficient 'blow volume' for each item, so it doesn't snag anywhere.

Recently changed to a rotary drier which also has to be loaded in a balanced way, socks and pants to the middle, rotating to opposing sections for balance, then tshirts and finally towel/sheets to the outside of course. Don't do colour coded peg nonsense though, just make sure the more tensile pegs are on the heavier items....who wouldn't?

Me me me !!!!! I can answer this one - sensibly she said jumping up and down ......... u hang them that way up cos the toe bit is thinner than the top of the sock and therefore it gives the top of the sock chance to blow around in the wind and get dry in an equal way to the toe bit ............ have u all kept up there lol

Minxie that is so wrong..

if you hang by the top of the sock the wind can enter and aids drying..

Easy - just go out & buy clothes pegs of the same color - then no need to color co-ordinate - problem solved!!!

This has been an education!

My washing's dry now. It's hung on different coloured pegs, in no particular order, socks are hung by tops and toes, whatever I grabbed first.

Now let's talk ironing.... who on earth bothers ironing their towels and sheets??!

Sometimes you do things without thinking, other times it is the littlest thing that you catch.

Being the wing up merchant that I am, I would move the pegs about to see what she does.
