Climbing up the ivy with a thorny rose between your teeth to meet your paramour.

In real life that would be breaking and entry. A red flag criminal activity. 🚨

Supersleuthing, to find out who someone is and tracking them down, whatever the obstacles, etc, despite only ever being seen for a millisecond. I'm uncertain that such resilience and dedication is good romantic film content but it's massive red flag content.

"Sleeping with a child that is somehow magically in an adults body "

To be fair if we are talking about Big, she had zero knowledge of that. Though she clearly did take advantage of a child like man (was within her knowledge)

True but she tries to persuade him to stay in the adult body after she finds out the truth

Asking the Big Boss (aka God) to let you come to Earth as a human to be with the woman you’ve been stalking for a while… 🫣

I do love City of Angels though, and Big and Mrs Doubtfire 😂😂😂

Everything Joe Goldberg does.

I have read the books that "You" are based on and I quite enjoyed them for what they were, but I always felt he came across as creepy and unhinged in the books (because he is). But I tried watching the TV series because women were going mad for it, and they romanticised his character so much and made it feel like some weird love story that I didn't get past a couple of episodes before giving up 😅

He was misunderstood! He just wanted someone to love! Ignore the taken underwear, locks of hair and weird book prison thing. He did it because he loves them!

Stalking

Not asking for consent

Ignoring safe words

If the person is considered attractive enough to the other person or the audience they appear to get away with anything.

Cheating is very big in romantic films. Cheating on your partner, fiance, or husband/wife.

Taking someone's life.

Committing crimes together.

I think as well, there's lots of things that as a fantasy might excite me that I'd never want to *actually* happen in real life. Sexuality/desire is complex. But because it's a "fantasy" scenario, or it's a character in a book/film/show doing it, it feels safe. Whereas in real life you'd be on the phone to the police.

I liked the show. But I am surprised that there are people who romanticised his behaviour. I like his quotes about books. But everything he did with the women was creepy right from the beginning.

So a man shouldn't try to make your dreams come true? Got it 👍🏾😜
