I keep meeting children who are twice the size of their parents. I don't mean the fat ones but the really tall, mature looking ones.

Girls are reaching menarche earlier too.

Is it GM foods, chemicals in our water or just evolution?

Its todo with more protien in the diet plus with girls its todo with body fat ratios, also genetics and heritage play a part to.

my 12 year old is much older looking than she is, she's about 5ft 8 and has a fully developed woman's figure, you would never believe she was only 12, I get some proper funny looks off people when I say I cant go out as I don't have a sitter as everyone thinks she's about 16 and I get asked why I need a sitter, when I say she's only 12 people never believe me

I do think kids are going thro puberty earlier now days there for appearing older

My daughter is crazily tall for her age and shes not the tallest girl in class either !!!

Shes over 5ft and she's only 9 and has size 4 1/2 shoes

Im tall and her dad's tall so there is no hope for her - she'll be tall and blonde and locked away until she is 20

Not quite recent, but Vince has been 6'2 since the age of 12 and both of his parents are below 5'5.

I just put it down to evolution. People were really short in the past and through the ages we've just got taller and taller.

There was a man behind me yesterday in the train station though who must've been 7'+! I spotted him in my preipheral vision and had to double-check he wasn't standing on anything!!

My daughter is shorter than both of her parents. She was second tallest in school and developed quite early then just... stopped growing. Bit weird that.

Our daughter is 2 and she's over 3ft and taller then some of my friends kids who are about 4. I think the got my lanky genes

I have a daughter the same age and same height too.......and size 9 feet.....I really hope her feet stop growing now as getting shoes is not easy !!!!! And every one thinks she's older too, I feel sorry for her sometimes as the brain maturity hasn't caught up with the body yet.
