Somewhere In The Ether…

Good folks 👋🏻😃

In a social setting (not sexual) - do you like to be the centre of attention?

Say, for instance, it’s your birthday and someone has organised a party/gathering for you.

Do you enjoy being the centre of such attention or else do you prefer to attend such events wherein someone else is the central focus?

Alternatively, you may of course be a miserable sod like me and opt for the third choice e.g preferring not to attend any such events in the first place, either your own or those of bloody others.

Over to you my good peeps 😜👍🏻

Think both for me OP. Happy to be centre of attention but also happy for someone to have the spotlight. As long as there is fun to be had!

I don’t celebrate or acknowledge my birthday mainly as I don’t give a shit about it but also because I hate being the focus of anything, friend and family tried to get me to have an event to celebrate my 40th told them all to get fucked ha

It depends on my mood and the group. I need space from groups in general but when lumped in with them I do go all in on the revelry.

No, don't like being the focus or centre of attention.

Hate surprise parties etc, Paul knows this and wouldn't dream of arranging such a bash.

Ok, out with friends for my birthday I suppose I am the centre of attention but don't overplay it.

We tend to mix with friends who are of the same minds.

Do find an attention seeker not getting all the attention he or she thinks they deserve hilarious, with little shows of titty lips.

I'm a successful, confident woman who is happy in her own skin and life so don't need excess attention.

Suppose I somewhat contradict myself at a gangbang.....🤣🤣🤣

All depends on the circumstances for me, generally I don’t like to be the centre of attention but if I’m wearing fancy dress or a costume of any kind then I can be a bit of a nightmare 🤣

I used to dislike birthdays in the office. Everyone would buy me a gift, the whole office came to a standstill to watch me open them. I would have much rather taken cakes in and have done with it

All depends on the circumstances really and Mrs4 is far more sociable than me but i enjoy making people laugh and she'll happily chat away to total strangers and i prefer to lurk in the background and listen and watch people as not a huge people person xx

Victor Meldrew here. I have twice had surprise parties organised for me for significant B'days (30 and 40) - that has never happened again.

However, if I go to an event out of choice, I love socialising.

I dont mind being seen, but not the centre of attention, no.

Im confident in my skin and can hold a decent conversation but do not wish to be the main attraction lol. Having said that I did used to be a Demonstrator at the ideal home show and other big shows, so not shy to speak and present products to large audiences x

If it's something for me, yes of course I'm happy to be the centre of attention, and it really grinds my gears when someone else attempts to make themselves the start of the show.

However, if it's someone else's event, I'm very happy just to sit in the sidelines and observe, and reluctantly join in if I'm forced to. I'd far rather not even attend them if I'm honest, but sometimes you just can't decline, can you?

I guess I'm - somewhat strangely - at the two extremes of the spectrum.

I love supporting people’s get together, so long as they are happy for me to approach them discreetly, wish them best wishes nice and quietly, for whatever reason the gathering has been convened

And then be allowed to sit quietly in a corner pretty much unnoticed

No thank you. I prefer to be invisible. I don't like lots of people looking at me. I'd prefer something intimate with someone I love or a small group of people I care about. Nothing over the top. Chilled out. Or nothing at all. Just a normal day.

I’ve always hated being the centrepiece of attention - introvert to the core. Never had a birthday party, well, certainly not since I was old enough to choose.

I don't think it always comes down to shyness.

I'm ok chatting to people and taking part in group activities but I don't want it to be about me.

I find it much more enjoyable when everyone is contributing and chipping in now and again rather than having someone trying to be the loudest voice or doing their best to suck all the oxygen out of the room.

People who want or need to be the centre of attention are not my kind of people so I don't have them in my small circle of friends.

I’m not a shy person but I could think of nothing worse than everyone looking at me if I’m trying to be the centre of attention. I don’t gravitate towards people like this either, they tend to just want to talk about themselves. No I’m quite happy being at the back of the room looking on.
