I haven't seen it personally, but going from experience if you compare any remake of a film. They never compare to the original and critics nearly always criticises the remake. My thoughts are go and see it and just try to enjoy it. Never compare films to the originals as the remakes nearly comes second best all the time.

There is no if about it I love my movies if all sorts, and in discursive terms the reason I thought it was so good is because it took an already great movie franchise and made it something incredible.

From the way the story is told to the emotion and the underlying conflict of power, yes there is action and plenty of it which will blow you away by it sheer immensity, but what really makes this film great is the way all the main characters are portrayed and how well they play their respective roles. Both Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan have done a magnificent job considering what they had to live up to.

I have always loved all the superman films and for me this was easily right up there if not the best one yet

Did you not see hathaways "fuck me in the rear" pose on the bat bicycle then

though DNR needed a bit more to it (the twist at the end was good & the actress is hot!!!) nolans remake did give batman some credability back after the last two when it became a bit more camp.

Personally i like the original 2 directed by burton

IMO I think it's important to see the batman films as a whole story and that's why DNR was good cos it tied it all up , as a stand alone film I found it a bit slow but as a trilogy they are excellent.

As for man of steel am still feeling this morning so must of had a big impact on me

so many great moments and fantastic lines etc, even Russell Crowe who I don't really rate that much was brilliant in it

Loved the new look suit and the fight scenes. It is good entertainment if you want to site back and not need to think to hard.... and that's not a bad thing.

The effects and CGI just lacked the WOW factor of anything new... they are good but no WOW moment, for me anyway.

I wasn't disappointed, it was what I expected..... and I'll no doubt buy the dvd when it comes out and watch it again.

Just seen it in 3D, and to be honest, at times, and there was quite a few periods throughout the film, I wish there was less CGI and more focus on the characters.

Of the 3 films I had seen in 3D recently, namely Iron Man 3, Star Trek Into Darkness and Man of Steel, the last one was the weakest of the three, and Star Trek being the most enjoyable.

And yes, I did long for the familiar John Williams' Superman theme, it is just not the same without it.

Still a good film, just not a great film, IMHO.

I'll probably wait for the Lovefilm release as I'm too poor for the cinema these days, but I will always love the original Christopher Reeve one. Time will tell if this one lasts as long as that one has done.

I would give it a 7 at the most, as there are some solid acting performances from Kevin Costner, Diane Laine and the gent who played Zod.

Fight scenes become a bit repetitive after a while.

Amy Adams is a good actress, however she is lack lustre in this film.

Henry Cavill is a pretty boy with a hot body and super powers in this film. Hopefully he will be given more chance to act than to pose and be pretty in the next instalment.

Zero humour.

To call it an epic would be unjust to the cinematic greats that are Gone With The Wind and Ben Hur.

I actually enjoyed Superman Returns more than I did with this one.

No wonder why it's called "Man Of Steel" and Superman isn't even in the title. The superhero doesn't even wear the outfit that has been in every comic book, drawing, film and every type of tv series since superman was invented about 80 years ago.

not seen new superman film yet..but the latest batman wasnt all that..quite boring in parts.

And Ann hathaway as cat woman...huge mistake..she had no presense..even outfit was shit!

Michelle Pfiffer played that part so well in everyway! maybe they forgot they needed to match or top her perfermance!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's good but not great. An interesting reworking of the story. We saw in 3D but I don't think it merits wearing the glasses. Probably better at the cinema because of the size.

I did like the new outfit and that little tuft of chest hair peeking out of the top. Plus a good performance from Cavill.
