Recommendations Rome stay

Nr Chester

Hi

Looking at visiting Rome for few days and wanting help of which area to stay in.

Not looking at paying stupid money for hotels but don't want to end up to far away from everything..so any ideas of where others have stayed and recommend would be appreciated.

I personally enjoy staying in Trastevere, it isn’t central but it’s a really cool little neighbourhood and still walkable. Lots of bars, independent shops and restaurants.

If you want central then somewhere near Campo de' Fiori would work.

Derby

When I went with friends, we stayed in an area call San Lorenzo. Looks a bit rough around the edge but only a 30min walk to the main centre with good transport links too. Some very good restaurant and bars too and the night life is great as it's apparently more of a student-y type of area
