Bridgwater - Somerset

Worked 12 hour shifts for years, made the most of the time off.

Now work every other weekend - working this one coming.

It sucks.

It certainly does.I don't even get an adequate salary to show for it!

some days I can be in at 6am, other days I start later but can finish at 2am- often I work weekends and can do 12-14 hr shifts.

Not done a normal 9-5 type job for years- suits me lovely 90% of the time

I've been working evenings for over twenty years now. I have no idea what people are talking about when TV programmes are mentioned. On the plus side I don't work weekends so I make the most of them.

You get paid?

Worse, Saturday I'm working with my boss (he's swapped shifts)and he's a total nobhead, I'll be busy all day with faffing jobs that are mostly a waste of time.

we do get customers so I'll play spot the swinger.

It's a garden centre so people sometimes ask for Pampas Grass and occasionally for a climbing rose called 'Golden Showers'

I work with disabled people so I doubt any of them are swingers- although you never know

Do 121/2 hour shifts, work most weekends, either saturday or sunday, on a bad weekend all of it, joys of my job.
