First one of the new month under the belt - Chalfont St Peter 1 Holmer Green 4.

A "little' (!!!) road trip later. Up to Orient's away game at Wigan, not been there for years.

In Scotia it's all about can The Jambos hang on to the end, that is gain enough points to not be caught by The Bhoys or the Gers. Fascinating end to the season and if they Hearts do win the league they will strengthen their team for next season too. While the Gers bed in new players and the Bhoys implode internally and have to hire more loanees, this could be a water shed season for us up here. There again Hearts could collapse and Celtic finish the strongest to take the title, or Rangers team gels and they take it. Like I said fascinating end to come. Mx 👿

Referees will decide it. Their decisions in favour of the paedos couldnt be more blatant.

Collum needs sacked.

Hopefully Rangers win with the jambos second. The oaedos will implode and the scum who support them will stop attending.

Middx/Herts borders-ish or thereabouts !

Well the Easter weekend is upon us. Who's going where ?

Made the road trip up to Greater Manchester last night to see Orient at Wigan. A scrappy goalless draw (though it didn't drag), but a reminder that there's little quality beneath the Championship. Six games unbeaten for Orient though, which nobody saw coming a month ago, so gradually pulling away from trouble.

Today - QPR v. Watford. Rather than go in away end at Shithouse Road where you can see precisely fuck all, have a seat in corner block in Stan Bowles Stand (£23)

Tomorrow - there's not even much on non-league wise. St. Albans v. Folkestone looks likeliest option.

Sunday - Joining the sell-out Cup tie in town. Fifteen quid for an F.A. Cup quarter-final, fantastic value. Would actually like to see whoever progresses from West Ham v. Leeds go on and win it (assuming Southampton & Port Vale fall). At least it would be something different, 46 and 54 years since the respective teams won it.

Monday - Watford v. Charlton. Reverse fixture from first day, seems a long time coming around. (Might take in a non league game first, Amersham v. Reading City [since when was Reading a city ?] at 11.30)

Tuesday - been there many times down the years, but first visit for a League game, Bromley v. Shrewsbury.

Anyway, as always if you're heading out, safe travels. Let us know how your matches go.

Somehow Watford managed to make the scoreline look respectable at QPR. Didn't manage a decent effort on target until 81 mins, then scored with a free kick to bring it back to 2-1. Would have been a travesty had they pinched a point.

Upper mid table it is then. Six "dead rubbers" left so sling a few of the kids in, see if any are up to it.

Good game in front of approaching two and a half thousand at Clarence Park this afternoon. When I spotted/selected game I wasn't aware of possible significance.

Quick start & early goal for St. Albans, but Folkestone Invicta battled back well to turn around level at the break. A header from a second half free kick handed the visitors a 1-2 win, and with it the Isthmian League title and promotion to National League South

Can I say I am not a fan of interlull then FA Cup combos… basically it means top clubs basically have a 3 week break/rest… unless you are in the cup or in Europe!

Such poor scheduling….

P.s wouldn’t it be funny if spurs went down and Millwall went up!

Incredible - just incredible.

A game that kicked off at 4.30pm, finally ended three hours and five minutes later, and introduced me to a new feeling....being sorry for West Ham.

In terms of quality it wouldn't have gone down as the greatest game, but bloody hell, what drama. First half saw Leeds in front and comfortably on top. And when they converted a penalty with fifteen minutes left to make it 0-2, it looked like thank you & goodnight. It was certainly the cue for a good few thousand West Ham fans to depart. Indeed Leeds missed a couple of further chances which would have killed the game off. And then....eleven minutes of stoppage time. Three minutes in, West Ham nick a goal back, and three minutes later...absolute bedlam.

And they SHOULD have won it in extra time. Two efforts chalked off for offside, but it was Leeds who were by now grimly hanging on. The miracle turnaround couldn't be completed though, with Leeds squeaking through 2-4 on pens.

And remember rule no. 1 - DON'T leave games early.

Just me then ? Surely someone else has been to games over Easter ???

A new non league ground for me this morning, Amersham Town hosting Reading City (??? since when) in the Combined Counties. Visitors took the lead with a penalty, but Amersham scored twice to turn it around for half-time. Then in second half Amersham keeper tried to head clear, but nodded the ball straight to a Reading forward, who had the simple task of rolling the ball into an empty net to secure a 2-2 draw.

And another draw followed at Vicarage Road (Watford's 15th of the season tells you why they've fallen short - what a difference five or six of those being wins might have made). Flat first half before Charlton took lead against run of play. Their keeper then had a spell where he got to everything Watford threw at him before equalising. Nasty late injury to Conor Coady, thankfully of course the hospital is next doors to the ground, so hopefully he's not sustained anything too horrible.

Tomorrow.....well, a ground which I've visited plenty of times for non league fixtures, but visiting Bromley as a league club for their game with Shrewsbury

Didn't get to Bromley on Tuesday, just felt totally drained after a full-on weekend so had a lazy day.

Combined Counties (Step 5) this evening - North Greenford United 3 North Leigh 0, frankly the scoreline could have been more.

News has broken over this way that the current incarnation of Hillingdon Borough are calling at day at the end of the season, meaning Thursday's game with Chalfont St. Peter will be their penultimate home match

Ferriby on Tuesday to watch Hull Under 21 V Bristol City U21 , was hoping to say hello to Roy Hodgson but don't think he was there Hull had a trialist up front who got 2 of Hulls 4 , in a 4-1 win so that won't have done him any harm , then I missed the train which meant I missed the bus which meant I missed the next train so broke journey by going in a pub to watch PSG v Liverpool, sat with a Liverpool fan and enjoyed the game , the passing from PSG in 1st half was brilliant, think Liverpool would have settled for 0-1 then 0-2 not too bad but I fear they may struggle when needing to attack to get goals at Anfield and worry about the speed of PSG counter attack,, I cam struggling what to wear for the footy , always happens this time of season , went dressed for winter was too hot in comparison to the last week when wish I'd put another layer on ,, was hoping for Beverley v Barton on Saturday NECL promotion play off but they made it all ticket and i never know until last minute if I can make it or not , there was exiting end to relegated in NECL premier league , 90 mins Albion Sports are safe Thackley going down THEN on 90+5 Thackley scored to draw 3-3 v Eccleshill AND Golcar score to beat Albion Sports 4-3 , meaning Albion Sports relegated Nd Thackley are safe ,,

Off to East London today for a nothing game against Wolves. You know, one of those end of season games with nothing riding on it. Pretty certain nobody in N17 is interested.

Might do QPR v Bristol City tomorrow lunchtime, as a mate has a spare.

Then Wednesday evening sees THE BIG ONE. Premier League u17s Cup Final - Blackburn Rovers v WHU at Accrington Stanley. Even the Iran War is taking a backseat for this one.

The sfa are doing everything they can to help separate entity fc to win the league.

Motherwell could have a big say in who wins although not as much as the referees and VAR. They dont even hide the cheating.

I expect penalties for separate entity fc and penalties against Rangers and hearts.

Although I expected a win last night, I did not see that score coming. No exaggeration, could have been 6 or 7 with better finishing. Up until we scored, Wolves were fractionally the better side.

Thanks to the A12 being shut before the North Circ, got home at 1 am. Now off to QPR - mate wants to be in the pub for 10 😢.

Middx/Herts borders-ish or thereabouts !

A couple of '1-0s' over last two evenings to add to the ledger.

Dire match between Hillingdon Borough and Chalfont St. Peter was settled in the only way possible, by the Chalfont keeper slicing a stoppage time clearance and leaving a Hillingdon forward an empty net to finish.

Last night Spurs U21 v Wolves U21 at Stevenage, reasonably good game though only goal was a Spurs penalty on 30 mins. One interesting aside was Wolves clearly had a few players who were under 18 and wore plain, unsponsored shirts given their main shirt sponsor is a betting outfit.

With teams I prefer to keep an eye on being away today (though I guess I could have got a ticket for Oxford v. Watford) it's a lunchtime trip to Shithouse Road for QPR v. Bristol City. That will put me on 177 games. I'm about ten ahead of where I was this time last season, so hoping that 200 might just be do-able.

As always, safe travels, enjoy your game.

They win the league - my dad’s side are 50/50 Hearts/Hibs and mums Celtic.

The 5am alarm & 400 mile round trip down to Plymouth for a 12.30ko is a killer for a draw. Neither team deserved a win so a 2-2 draw was fair result but probably ruined our chances of a playoff place. But I love league 1 (shush!!)

Inside your head

What a weekend up here

Celtic squeeze past St Mirren by yet another 1-0

Hearts come from behind to beat Motherwell

The shock of the weekend was Falkirk going 2-0 up against Rangers after 20 minutes.

2-1 at Half Time

Whatever Danny Rohl said at the interval needs to be bottled and brought out before every game

Why do they need to give teams a 2-0 start before awakening themselves to blast 6 goals in themselves

Chris Sutton and his biased Green glasses has now conceded the title and cannot see a way back for Celtic.

The title is now in Rangers hands and is theirs to lose.

Love how cool Derek McInnes is throughout.

We enter the split with 5 games to go

Hearts are 1 point above Rangers who are 2 points above Celtic

Rangers have the better goal difference.

When you look at the games drawn and look back at Russell Martin’s tenure and wonder if Rangers had won half of those games, they would have been 12 points clear at the top now.

Well, I'm not entirely sure what I've done to piss the footballing gods off at the moment, but I was "blessed" with another 0-0 between Orient & Mansfield. It'd still be 0-0 if they were playing now.

In fact my last four games have produced just two goals, one of which was a penalty, and the other down to an idiot goalkeeper totally slicing an injury time clearance and gifting an empty net for a forward to roll the ball into.

Next up, London Senior Cup semi-final, QPR U21 v Cheshunt at Hanwell Town - got to be goals there, surely ?

Good stuff, glad you had enjoyable evening.

Thankfully there was no goal drought for me tonight as QPR U21 hosted Cheshunt at Hanwell Town in the London Senior Cup semi-final. Years ago this used to be the second most significant competition in senior non-league football as clubs from the Middlesex, Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, and Surrey F.A.'s battled for it. Nowadays a few London teams enter their Academy teams alongside other clubs who wish to take part.

Anyway, QPR were in front on fifty six seconds, and that set the tone for the rest of the half, as they rattled in a further four to lead 5-0 at the break.

You can guess what happened in the second half - yep, not a lot, QPR's thirst for goals clearly having been quenched. In fact the last kick of the game provided the only other significant moment, Cheshunt converting an injury time penalty. 5-1 FT. One thing that did impress me was the young referee ticking off a couple of Cheshunt players for excessive swearing. Not at him I should add, but just in general. Liked that, would be good to see more of it.

Am back at Hanwell on Thurs evening, they host Farnham in a Southern League match

The "problem" (as such) with Academy football is it tends to produce sanitised chessboard football. "This is how the 1st XI play, this is how we will play". They're overcoached. It's as if the flair and individuality is drained out of them. Maybe the old reserve Leagues like the Football Combination were a better learning ground, where typically a team might consist of three or four old lags who were getting past it, a handful of players feeling their way back after injury, and a few kids starting to find their feet.

I've seen two boys this season who can play, I mean REALLY play - a Northern Irish lad named Braiden Graham at Everton (and I've seen him three times, apparently he was in Linfield's first team at 15), and Riley Carr of Leicester who ripped the shit out of Arsenal's kids at Boreham Wood the other week.

couple, us we him her.

Sad to hear that former Arsenal keeper Alex Manninger was killed in an accident.

He was a decent keeper and a top bloke by all accounts, unfortunately not as successful as he could have been as he was 2nd choice to Dave Seamen.

RIP Alex.

Middx/Herts borders-ish or thereabouts !

Indeed, very sad news.

Back to Hanwell tonight, this time for a Southern League game v. Farnham. And once again there was a last minute penalty for the visitors - only this time it wasn't a consolation. Having trailed for most of the game, they snatched a 1-1 draw.

Next up for me, Watford v. Sheffield United on Saturday.

Well played to your boys (especially if they are actually your boys). "

Thank you. No relations playing, just have an unhealthy relationship following West Ham. Thankfully, I’m married to an incredibly understanding woman.

So......well done Coventry. Saw them win 4-0 at Millwall earlier in the season. They're actually at Vicarage Road on the last day.

Home to Sheffield United today. Anybody else off to a game ? As always, safe travels, have an enjoyable day.

Congrats to Cov (less so Big Fat Frank - antipathy is for Life’s, not just Christmas).

Off to see Aylesbury United at Hadley this afternoon. First visit there.

A truly abysmal display by Watford. Don't think they managed a decent effort on target against Sheff Utd. Talk about season fizzling out (...as usual).

It's a good job they're safe. Final three games - West Brom away (who need to win), Middlesbrough away (who need to win), Coventry at home (who will want to finish in style). To quote Eurovision "nul points".
