"Ive got hundreds if vinyl albums and singles but no record player." Same as myself. Get loads of wee hipsters telling me i should be buying vinyl instead of cds. They were/are called records. You get them from record shops. The magazine is called record collector. Vinyks are for hipsters who but what theyre told they should have.

"New records not have the quality these days as most are made using the digital source not like the analogue original records " On a £40 system from B&M I guess that's going to be irrelevant, unless you have old vinyl from your youth lying around that you want to play again, I'd say low end gear is a waste of money, on an low end to average system, a £40 vinyl is not going to sound any better than a £10 or less CD.

"The price of vinyl is seriously expensive. (Compared to years ago. I've seen in second hand shop windows £40 all the way upto £70.) Just would not pay that kind of money for something if you scratch it. You bin it." Thats called taking the P!@£

"Look around for a copy of the soundtrack to the film Times Square (1980). It's never been issued on CD, but is looked upon as one of the greatest soundtrack albums ever, including Roxy Music, Gary Newman, Talking Heads, The Ramones, The Cure, Lou Reed, XTC, The Pretenders and a load more." "I’ve got about 150 It’s very hard to find rare or valuable records in charity shops now as they all scan them on discogs before listing, but it can still happen if you’re lucky " Charity shops hugely over inflate prices too as they don’t really understand how to grade them, much better using record fares in my experience

"I bought a record player from b and m yesterday for £40 . It seems ok and now I'm trawling the Internet and charity shops looking for vinyls . Anyone else in to them ?" Vinyl addict here, massive collection from mums n dads collecting days, I never stopped. Record fairs, charity shops, record collectors mags. Glad to see HMV back on the high street. Cds although bought, never did it for me, the miniature artwork, dreadful. It turns out they don't last forever. A mono 45 beats a cd stereo repo.everytime.

"You will struggle to find anything good on vinyl in charity shops, car boot sales etc. The vinyl boom has seen the bargain disappear. Second hand record shops and fairs know what to price things at, and its not cheap" Yep, I've paid up to £60 for secondhand 12" singles from the late 70s and 80s, the cheaper ones have been around £20

Me and were weighing it up halve on some desks, he sold ev when he got married..(idiot)and all his vinyl.1400-1500 a pair these days, I felt sick, tried to comfort myself, saying, well they're mark 7s though, like were good to be getting into that debate. Vinyls around 20 these days isn't it?
