This feels like a weird topic to drop on here but we know because of our children it impacts the fun we can have and wondered if there were others who have the same challenge and so cancelling at short notice sometimes is seen as okay not rude.

I think it can sometimes be difficult for those not in the same situation to understand at times especially given the excitement and build ups but being in that boat myself it does always leave a little anxiety as to whether i will need to cancel or not.

We aren't currently meeting so it doesn't apply but as a mum of a Sen child I know how difficult it is.

There's so much going on not just the child and appointments life in general I've no headspace to meet anyone.

I do go to the ladies only socials which are lovely but even had to cancel that last time as the little one was poorly.

Morning OP, yep, I hear you. Almost invisible to the outside world.

I imagine you and others are fighting the good fight.

Take care.

I have a SEN son, and totally get where you're coming from. People who've never experienced it, don't get.

Hoping thing's change,sending hugs xx

You too OP.

I think people not in the same situation don't/can't understand at all.

Yep single mum to SEND twins! Can only play in the day when they are at school, can't travel too far and plenty of times I've had to cancel or postpone because I've had a call from the school.

Can't have people over in the evening as they are still very young and don't do well always with new people in their home. I've one trusted friend I allow over when they are in bed. But yes can be limiting

We make our family position known and that we may have to cancel last minute. These things happen.

For us, it encouraged us to meet solo, to avoid childcare issues. But still, its far from easy at times.

Mr always prefers daytime meets where possible, so he can be home after school hours.

Mrs.
