We're come home from India next week. So the time difference changes from 5 1/2 hours to 4 1/2.

Are you saying farm animals wake up at a different time all of a sudden so we need to change the clocks? That's insane.

The idea of changing the clocks is insane and should be scrapped.

🤦🏻‍♂️ but when it was introduced there was no such thing as electric lighting, so when this country actually gave a fuck about farmers, it aimed to give them as much daylight/ working hours as possible, I know it seems unnecessary to someone who’s lived in a concrete jungle all of their lives, but to some people who need to see what they’re doing, it matters.

I love daylight, so we should leave it set to summer time. Otherwise we end up with dark morning and dark afternoon by the shortest day. If on summertime be just dark morning and get to early evening and go dark.

I doubt any UK government has ever done anything for the benefit of Scots farmers.

I always understood it was done so that kids walking and cycling to school in the morning were safer during the winter than would otherwise be the case on darker mornings. That was of course before they were all taken there in badly driven cars!
