Oldskool ministry of sound top tunes ?

Jump to newest

Winchester/London

I worked for ministry of sound and underground 90's raves as a dj/mixer.

If you loved those days what was your fave dance/rave classic that leaves you misty eyed if you happen to hear it now ?

An associate got to top the charts with " raving i'm raving " by Shut up and dance so that's my choice.

Just to do her hair now

Because she cares you all

Her day wouldn't be right

Without her make up

She's never out of make up

She's just like you and me

But she's homeless,

she's homeless

As she stands there singing

for money.

Stopped djing about ten years ago now, went to a muse gig and changed my direction in music totally. Now it has to be guitar laden rock alt....weird hey!!! I wish I could play guitar as good as I could mix lol!!!!

My collection is diverse as when I started there were so many types if music played in clubs so early hip hop to American house to hardcore.

One thing though is music has always been a huge part of my life whatever genre I have been into, only thing in life after my daughter that I couldn't live without, and yes even more so than sex lol!!!!

That sounds like a damn fine idea, I only know the names of the tunes from seeking them out on you tube for the most part. Mix tapes never had inlay cards It's good fun finding them again.

Someone mentioned darude sandstorm so I give you

Darude - Feel The Beat another great bouncy tune.

Happy Days, off to glastonbury next week and about the only DJ I recognise is Nick Warren on the Thursday, any other old skool ravers going? Bring back Tribal Gathering I say... Pretty much the same as Global gathering though.

Thank you kind sir, you not going this year? It's hard not to have a blast at glastonbury though. Taking my mate, who has just discovered she's bi, it's her first festival, she took me to my first rave many many moons ago after I took her to a Pink Floyd gig.

A friend of mine saw Pink Floyd perform all the new material from Dark side of the moon at Southampton uni around the release of the album.

What a piece of history to have been there eh ?

Afraid I can't go this year to Glastonbury which via sod's law should guarantee you glorious weather and I hope that it does.

That's cool, good memories. I was a bit young then Going to see Roger Waters do the wall in september, seen him do dark side of the moon a couple of times. Not the same as Floyd but still pretty good.

Don't want to much sunshine at glastonbury I go lobster red, peel and go white again lol 2010 was too hot, no rain but you couldn't buy an umbrella for love nor money... Sunny with occasional clouds would be ideal maybe light shower every so often to dampen down the dust. As long as it's not 05 or 07 type of rain...

Via thread count we've nearly enough people with a passion for the oldskool dance tunes to have an annual "fabfields"

Just need a few acres of land now.

Bet there'll be some interesting risque attire worn ?
