Black Country

are we talking re-makes, or sequels ?

Dont think i know any films where the re-make is better than the original.

but sequels, on the other hand.. the following were better than the first installment

Waynes World 2

Star Trek II

The Dark Knight Rises

Empire Strikes Back

for those nostalgic films buffs will argue certain films havent lived up to the expectations...not sequels..remakes

some are truly shit, others are great...some just suit peoples preference

for example, foreign films remade into english, fair enough they might not be better..but if u dont like subtitled films(doesnt mean ur an idiot),then its fair enough to like the film.

I hate the 'better as a book' club..As I hate novels, I'm very visually orientated and the idea of reading lord of the rings books etc will NEVER happen for me

anyway, I cant think of any remake thats been better than the original..but there are lots of retellings(an idea I believe that was stolen from comic books, where artists and writers could effectively give a famous story/character their own slant)

By original do you mean the Japanese version (Ringu) or the first attempt at ripping the soul out of a film by hollywood (The Ring)?

The first one was a spoof though and nothing to do with the Bond series (other than it spoofing 60's spy movies of course).

So not a remake, sorry!

"the best car chase was in bullit with steve mcqueen....."

The best car chase was the original vanishing point. A lot was filmed on public roads and were genuine police chases as they didn't have permission. It was all filmed in sequence and the damage was real, the car wasn't repaired between stunts.

No 2 vanishing point

Barry Newman driving a dodge challenger.

3 driver

4 ronin

5 the blues brothers. The most expensive car chase of all time with over 100 cars written off. Special mention for bullitt. The original and some say best car chase. Too many continuity errors ( the green beetle constantly in shot and hubcaps mysteriously disappearing and reappearing)

Nevertheless a great chase.
