Im not tech minded so bear with me but if they only have that then why do you need to reset the phone?

Hopefully if you dont open dodgy emails and have virus protection etc you should be ok..?

Spam email doesn’t necessarily mean your phone has a virus it often just means someone either got your email from a list or it’s a bot spamming endless permutations of an email.

You can't get malware on mobiles unless you install something. I might be wrong though.

You can try to install malwarebytes or avg.

Are you receiving a lot of unsolicited emails or is there suspicious activity on your phone?

Do you have banking apps or any credit card details on your phone?

Just because your email might have been hacked, won't mean that your phone has definitely got security issues.

You can change your password for your email address and potentially create a new email address, as your backup.

You can also reset your phone, such as a factory reset, which deletes everything on it. Or consider speaking to your mobile support, to tell them why you think you've a mobile problem.

Your Google account has security measures as standard. This would usually include using your phone number as security confirmation.

But email service is different from phone security being breached. Try to narrow it down to the specific issue and target that. As others state scammers try it on with thousands of people a day. In the hope that some bite. If you have control of your email password, then only you can change it,etc

You can get a virus from simply tapping a link

All samsungs have knox antivirus software as standard. It would take alot to get past that to be fair. Ive never owned a phone that had a virus and I've always had Samsungs.
