This really just depends on the situation. If we’ve all the time in the world I’m happy to chat and have a cup of tea or glass of wine however more often than not we’re meeting when our daughter is out or in college so I always have to be aware of what time she’s due back so I know when to get people to leave. I'm interpreting the OP's question to something that alludes to 'quick meets' that last a few hours or perhaps short daytime 'meets'.

The "deed is done" isn't something I can relate to because I usually do overnight dates where my partner and I would engage in post-coital pillow talk, grazing, snoozing, repeated sex and foreplay until the next morning...with sustained morning sex and culminating with late-morning brunch in some brasserie. I don't think any etiquette or protocol applies. It's all natural, instinctive and organic.

It’s usually an over night meet in a hotel and we both stay. There generally isn’t any cuddling involved we just chat for a while fall asleep and then go our separate ways in the morning. I don’t do one offs really so I think that makes a difference as you get more comfortable with each other.
