We have both said if either of us at any time feel like it’s becoming too much, want a rest or stop completely that we would openly discuss it.

This can get addictive and also more so for one or the other.

We took a break from it a few years ago but couldn’t keep away

If it's with a person that ive met lots yes if it's no longer fun it serves no purpose to me.

But I tend to make my own fun most the time.

It's just a bit of headspace I'm in right now. So much going on in my life and not a huge amount of it giving me joy right now. I continue to wake up and count my blessings every day though in the perpetual hope that things will sort themselves out soon.

It's in sine peoples nature to pursue variety and new adventures so the fun will stop. Ideally it merges to a friendship but easier said than done.
