Do you have one of those boiling water taps in your kitchen. Any good? What is it? Other than quooker and the like that you need a second mortgage for😀

I don’t, but I have friends that do, they all same the same thing.. the cheaper ones don’t last, whereas the expensive one by qooker is built well and lasts.

We have them at work. They're pretty good but think I can cope with a coffee machine and a kettle at home

I guess it’s if it’s worth the electric costs of keeping a cylinder of water at boiling point 24/7 vs boiling the kettle a few times a day ha

The newer qookers also filter and can carbonate the water on some models, they remove the limescale also… great for areas with hard water.

But, yes… the initial cost is high and I’m not sure if the running costs, other than the filters which need changing every 6 months to a year dependent on factors.

by the big field

Had one at work. The cabinet that does all the work that is hidden out of sight in the cupboard was the size of a small fridge and the filter needed to be changed stupidly often (granted a lot more users than the average house, but i'd stick with the kettle)

In hard water areas like here, on the chalk, it’s so pointless …

The calcium build up is quite severe, I need to boil sliced lemons in the kettle every month !

Plus the cost is so expensive but my worry are small grandchildren who just might scald themselves by accident !

Plus a kettle is a kitchen fixture. Part of the British tea ceremony
