Getting out of your comfort zone

I feel like I need to shake things up. I've grown comfortable in my own safe space, doing things that are familiar.

What have you done lately to break out of your comfort zone? I almost need inspiration or motivation. What happened after you did these things?

Close To The Edge, Down Bi The River

Went to a Bi-Night at a local club. Need to be a bit more adventurous while I still can.

I’ve been in a lull these past couple of months, the weather really doesn’t help and works been a nightmare but putting the best foot forward and getting back into the gym tomorrow, shake myself out of it

Haven't done anything recently because I don't have the time, energy or motivation.

In the past I've walked away from a company I'd worked with for 34 years and that was liberating at the time even if it didn't work out as planned.

In a fab sense I went to a party years ago where I didn't know anyone there apart from the woman who invited me. That was definitely out of my comfort zone but went better than I had hoped. I haven't had the chance to repeat that though.

Past three weeks I've been going to pubs. For drinks and food. I never normally eat in public and it's the first time I've been to a pub or anywhere other than to concerts for over 10 years

Felt more relaxed in social settings with crowds as well as being less self conscious

I think the last time I broke out of my comfort zone in any meaningful, life changing way was around 12 years ago when I agreed to take voluntary redundancy and early retirement meaning that we needed to downsize and move to a different area.

Since then I've done smaller things such as attend clubs and social gatherings (not swinging) alone etc.

I'm not very keen on discomfort so I tend to stay in my fairly broad lane

Guess I did that when I quit my secure job 14 years ago and started my own company, or maybe in January when I took on a new member of staff.

Everyone's mentioning really big things and I was proud of myself for watching The Silence of the Lambs for the first time today 😂

I undertook an OU course last September which is due to conclude in May this year.

Studying is quite hard the older you get. Focus wise at least. Well and truly out of my comfort zone.

. Small gains are still gains.

I try a new recipe every now and again and watched some reality TV last week.

It's all about keeping life interesting and if for you that's eating a different type of kit kat, go for it I say

Career change. I found it really daunting. I made a lot of mistakes. Fortunately I had good colleagues around me who reminded me it's ok to fail. Learn from it. Go again.

Throughout my life, I've often enjoyed rolling the dice with life's choices so to speak. They often turned out pretty good.

I've found that attitude changed a fair bit when my boy came along 20 years ago; I'm much more risk averse these days.

In a sexual sense, I've found a wonderful partner who is just as kinky as me it seems and we're having a blast exploring lots of different pleasures together. ❤️
