On abit of a guilt trip today. Brought hubby a pack of vests from a well known store and noticed they were made in Vietnam. Read an article recently about children working in these sweatshops getting as little as 6p for a 12 hour shift!

Trying to console myself with the thought that well if i didnt buy them the child wouldnt earn anything.

Anyone got any views?

6p to us is bugger all, but 6p to someone in Vietnam or any other of the back of beyond countries is probably a fortune.

They probably have the choice to earn 6p making vests or earn bugger all and starve.

Problem is, if they get paid too much, the buggers will rise up and treble the price of the vests, then you'll be sorry

im against child labour but cant afford to object and buy ethical or fairtrade etc really. its the joy of capitalism and supply and demand. i suppose the only solace to be found from it is that at least they arent starving! will remind my little darling when she havin a whinge about tidyin her room that there are kids in the world working in factories for less than she has lyin in her bag!! x
