we got a friends invite from wot looked like a nice cpl not too far away so we accepted and jus noticed they were online so i msgd them explainin that we not playin as a cpl atm due to cath havin a brain op in october to cure her epilepsy and is recoverin but they deleted without reply so we sent one back sayin that a reply would off bin nice cos u did send us a friend invite after all!!! deleted again with no reply and they removed us from friends!! wots that all about??

well maybe itscos you said your not playing as a couple so that says to me that your playing as a bloke alone.

It says nothing on your profile so i kinda go with them and would also have deleted you

Agree,they must have been looking for a couple and as already been said,there is nothing on your profile to say you are swinging on your own.

Well we have this thing that folks are not honest in the profile then we feel we have no duty to reply to them as we normally reply to everyone

As you drop into the couple profile but not meeting as a couple the your not being honest with us.

Dead easy to stop this happening 1 put it on your profile or 2 say your not meeting at all just now. simple

Suppose we would have done the same but not quite for the reasons above but just because if one of us was having a brain operation we would like to think the other would be more concerned about us than swinging but thats just us

Am agreeing with all the post on here so far, change your profile, preferably to say you are supporting your other half through a major health situation and neither of you are playing till she is 100% fit and well !!!!!!!!!!

i agree i wudnt carry on swinging if my otha half was ill ....but ...if a fellow fabber had told me there otha half was having a brain op i wud wish them the best of luck...and hope evrey thing went well...xxx so I DO WISH U ALL THE BEST ....xxxx

let me put another spin on it..

few weeks ago I posted something about the empire cinema club and the backrow..

you asked what happened in the back row?

about an hour later you asked again. I hadnt replied due to being out.

I apologised when I did answer

you opened another thread asking about the empire..

I answered on that one..

and you never replied.. I felt exactly the same as you... would have taken only a second to say thanks.

In your OP you said you told them you weren't playing 'as a couple' at the moment that intimates to me that you were happy to play alone !!!!! As has been said, that is seen as misleading as it says nothing on your profile about you playing alone - hence you didn't deserve a reply !!!!!

Think there was a post from the OP a week or so ago, telling everyone about his wife's recent op and saying they wouldn't be back into swinging for a while and how it might seem strange getting back into it.

Fair enough, read your intitial post wrong.....either way swinging wouldn't be high up on my list of priorities either pre op or post op.

Reply would have been courteous and your personal situation is your personal situation so there is no reason why you should put it on your profile.

Someone contacted you and you didnt mislead them, you responded with the truth and an explanation of your situation, I personally would have sent the mail before accepting them but thats not a big thing.

There again they didnt really do anything wrong either, they read your mail and decided they didnt want to wait for you to play as a couple again nor did they want to reply to your mail, that is thier choice, and had that happened to me I would have seen it as an insight into thier personality and considered myself lucky to have learned that at an early stage, moved on and blocked them so I couldn't make the mistake of speaking to them in the future.

This surely highlights a common problem with profiles, the fact that something that's said in them shows that they're well out of date.

In the case of the OP, the lady has been out of commission for several months now, they're regularly on the forums so why not spend 2 minutes of that time on updating their profile, then everybody knows the score.

It's not rocket science!!
