Have you read threads from people stating they don't contact certain members because they're "out of their league" etc, implying there are people on site they feel they're not worthy to meet.

Is it any wonder some people then get an over rated impression of themselves...no different to anywhere else really, just magnified here.

I know someone who was happy to chat to me in the chat room with the usual, 'how are you' etc but no more - turns out he thought I was out of his league. After meeting up for a social just over 2 years ago, we're now living together and engaged to be married! His daughter thought I was too good for him too and wondered how the hell he pulled me but there are some things a daughter doesn't need to know

Nobody is better than anyone else IMO - we're all different in how we use the gifts given to us

I'm going to play devils advocate and suggest that some ARE in fact better than others!

Some are disrespectful, rude, abusive and have expectation levels so unrealistic that they probably predict Liverpool to win some silverware next season!

Others are pleasant, friendly, courteous and realistic in their perception of what this site is all about!

I'm not suggesting for one second that looks come into the equation at all when the phrase 'some are better than others ' is thrown about - but in terms of personality and mentality - i think that statement is actually true!

I don't think it's that they think they are better than anyone else. It's probably a acse of your not their preference so a rebuff could be hard to swallow if your the sensitive type.. Can't say I've come across anyone that thins they are better or beneath me if honest!!

The thing is, we all have a criteria as to what makes us or other people 'good people' or 'not so good'.... some criteria are boarder than others. There are some exception but they are generally extremes such as dedicated Buddhists.

It is not a bad thing to think yourself better than someone else at some point. Is it big headed to see a BMP thug spitting at a mother with her child and think you are a better person than the thug?

However...... if you find yourself thinking other people think they are better than you..... may be you should check-in with your own paranoia first.

Why is it wrong?

I worked hard to be where I am today, with my own roof over my head, and am financially independent without ever taking a penny from the state.

Why should I not feel proud of my achievements when compared with those who are reliant of the state's handouts for example?

Inverse snobbery is just as unattractive, IMHO.
