I seem to find myself with one of my neighbours kittens (that somehow managed to get out of their garden, through another and into mine!) sat on my lap now it has calmed down and no longer scared and shaking purring away

Looks to me like its only about 6/7weeks at most - its been years since i've dealt with kittens this young, the neighbours have been out all morning and looks like they aren't planning on coming back any time soon (who would want to in this

weather!) so i need to give it something to eat soon as its been over an hour since it arrived and i have no idea when it last ate!

From what i remember weetabix is OK for them at that kind of age, if i make a bit with water that should be OK for him shouldn't it?

N.B - I now want a kitten!!!!

If its that young weetabix might be too heavy on its stomach but bread and milk saps would be ok

Yep! Cow`s milk if it doesn`t make a cat sick straight away it`s prolonged use can lead to kidney failure and blindness

I still think a phonecall to the RSPCA might be worthwhile if they are outside on a warm day like today. Anything could have happened to the little one you've got (who I'm called wuv!) he's incredibly lucky that its your garden he found himself in.

Looks a bit young to have left the litter tbh

And i would offer to keep it - but it has a hard lump of skin on the top of his head, like a bit or something that has gotten a little infected (its like a little bubble, its only small but on a little head looks big!)

That's what I thought, hence me thinking it might be worth ringing the RSPCA. This little one is very lucky he got to Please Me who's really looking after him.

Its a good thing next door weren't in with their Rottie!!

I'll give them until 4pm, if they haven't come home by then i'll re-think my plan!

I don't have their numbers but have them on FB, have messaged them both but they haven't been read yet

I'm not sure how many are there, but i can definitely hear at least one crying out

I'll feel so bad if it was only the two of them and it's in there all on its own while this one is here with me!!

With regards to feeding I reckon the idea about a pouch of kitten food was best, just keep them warm and comfy and I'm sure they'll be fine.

Update: The second kitten has just arrived in the garden, having found its way to its friend. Please Me (and her little boy) are currently calming the scared new kitten down. He's a bit smaller and is terrified too.

Can you go get the other kitten? I feel bad it's outside in the heat. A wee call to the local vet maybe? They'll be able to at least give you some advice. Hope they're okay. Bathe the lump with lukewarm salty water... clean is good. And finally hats off to you for caring.

Her little boy is being really gentle with them and she's just looking after them the best she can. What an adventurous Saturday for them all!

If they are your neighbours, they don't deserve them back until they learn how to take care of them.

If you explain the circumstances they'll arrange for a volunteer to come pick them up. The kits need to see a vet as soon as possible, especially the bitten one. Rest assured no animal will be give back to a neglectful owner and if they mother needs attention she'll have it if the rspca get involved.

I'm a volunteer for my local branch and unfortunately this is a common occurrence.

I tried that number and every time i went through all the selections it would say look online then cut me off!!

I've just got back from my local RSPCA office and they have given me some cat litter and food to tide me over for a bit until i can see the owners. They won't take them in because they aren't sick etc plus they dont have the space and i know who the owners are

i've made a cat litter tray out of an old small cutlery tray organiser

The owners still haven't come back so looks like i may have them til later or even overnight!!

They seem happy enough anyway - they're running around following me and the child everywhere and busy attacking shadows, curtains and each other!

My lad is animal obsessed. He would love a pet. Not allowed dogs or cats so trying to decide between a tortoise, huge rabbit or guinea pigs for Xmas
