Compact, cultural, great (simple) transport system.

Relatively inexpensive

Worth a look up

Ilkeston

Krakow was beautiful in September really warm and such a beautiful city

Little pricier would be lisbon. About 20 min uber into city centre. So much to see from the coast to amazing historic architecture. If you have bad knees avoid as its all hills and the paths are tiny tiles so very slippery

Lisbon on is amazing I think it's the oldest city in Europe. I love Al fama and flea market area, Also the LX Factory area is so cool. every airport has regular busses to the centre. Lisbon transfer is only €1.80 & faster than Uber as they have better routes

Google the Telly Savalas advert for Brum, it's like a parody. But it's real

To be fair i landed late at night and was my first ever solo trip so was a little nervous using public transport. Id do it now though.

The flea market is gorgeous. Nothing will beat sintra though such beautiful and stillness even though it was so busy. The views too.

I cant remember what its called but also went to the most western point on continental Europe was a beauty too

Vienna is a good option for all you're looking for. Went in the Summer a few years back, and it was lovely.

CARLISLE

Found Salzburg cracking. Airport is 15 min from town center. Nice and compact and just enough for a few days sights and food.

In the west.

I really like Malaga, as well as the e other southern Spanish cities.

Malaga is easy to get to and the airport is about 20-30 minutes from the city.

It is fairly flat and has 2 long beaches although they aren’t the best.

No matter what city I go to I always do a free walking tour as they are a great way of seeing the city with a guide and other people.
