I left work after 19:16h, and about quarter of the way back home, there was an accident blocking both sides of the single carriageway.

Rather than sitting there and wait for the road to clear, I turned on my sat nav and took another route home, one that is well known for being difficult to access without a 4x4 whenever there is snow.

The road was just about possible in my little car in many places, and I kept saying to myself, do not stop or you'll be in trouble etc...

I made it to the main road eventually without any incident! PHEW!!!

Then the snow came down thick and fast, and there were AHs that were impatient with my speed and overtook me on single carriageways!!!

All in all, it took twice as long to get home. However, I am in one piece, and am grateful for who or whatever is up there looking after me!

Think we all are fed up with it now. Spend 6hrs to do a 2hr round trip under normal circumstances.

Walked to the shop earlier ... loads of people on foot and just the odd 4WD. Lots smiling and saying hi and being friendly, it's like the good old days again

I don't know what your problem is, people.

After all, it is just fluffy water.

Take your car out tonight, find a deserted car park and practice your slides and do-nuts. its the best fun you can have for (nearly) free short of having sex with great people.

have fun.

we love the snow but our neighbours patronise us for having a 4x4 saying we dont need a big gas guzzler ..well 2 kids and 1 on the way and our german shepheard and all dazs recovery stuff to get in it beats a people carrier cos the same neighbours are ever so friendly now the snow is here and there all getting stuck hahahahaha

Do you need some warm hands up there now then?

(jumps up and down with hand in the air shouting "me" "me")
