"Yesterday and today, I have been a bit overwhelmed by people being kind. I am in crutches at the moment and am struggling to walk. I have been in busy places for one reason or another and have been offered help by different people, one person being an elderly gentleman with a walking stick tried to give me his seat in the chemists, I refused but thanked him none the less, and was then given a seat by a younger man. I needed to go shopping and ended up needing a mobility scooter, much to my embarassment, but had no choice. On my way out, a lovely man came and carried my shopping to my taxi. I was in a quandry as you are not allowed to take the scooter passed a certain point and had stupidly bought one or two heavy items, and didn't have a clue how I was going to get my bags out when my knight in shining armour (well shorts and a tshirt) left his trolley and helped me out. Now I know some will roll their eyes or say if I can't manage then don't go shopping etc. But this is a recent thing me not being able to walk without assistance, so still coming to terms with the facts that I am limited in what I can and can't do. The reason for my post is previously people have been rude and unhelpful and no, I'm not saying I have a right to help etc. But even just the commin courtesy of holding a door open, or just moving out the way when a wide load on crutches is coming through. I just wanted to say, my faith in human kindness has been restored the passed couple of days. So basically, it's most definitely nice to be nice and has taught me to 1) be a lot more considerate, even if in a rush and 2)there are still some lovely people about. Oh and 3) to remember to realise there are basic things I can no longer do (except drive one of those scooters like a bat out of hell " Enjoy it while it last, this country is very quickly becoming a look after number one nation Which is so sad

"Fair play to you for going. A lot of people would have stayed at home saying they couldn't do it " Thank you, just not liking having to depend or ask for help. Was just lovely to get some help.
