"On your back, legs up and bent at the knee so your lower legs are parallel with the ground. Then do a reverse crunch, that is use your tummy muscles to lift your legs towards your head. Its a tiny move so don't over do it. For double fun crunch your upper body towards your knees. Killer move but all your abs will ache after that. Don't forget to keep your abs drawn in by pressing the small of your back against the floor/mat/towel whatever you're lying on." Ta! That's one I don't do so I'll give it a bash tomorrow.

"yur lower abs will not show no matter what core excercises u do unless u have a flat stomach!if u have excess fat on yur belly u shud try lose it first!lower abs on a woman(especially if u have had kids)is really hard to achieve!!speaking frm experince!" I'm not really bothered about the look of my abs, more that after a year off work with an awful neck injury, I lost so much condition, it scared me. Mine will never show as I'm eight stones lighter than I was a few years ago and I have the resulting 'empty body' left over that only surgery will get rid of.

"oh the muscle is worked on the downward movent as much as the upward.. dont just flop the leg etc back to the floor" Thanks for both your posts. I do a lot of slow leg work; legs straight and raise from just above the floor to over my head and slowly down again. Lots of holding positions too. Hooking my feet under something always feels like cheating!

"Standing crunches on a machine and elbow to knee sit ups, if you search for oblique and lower ab techniques you'll find loads of great tips. YouTube is better than google because you can see what form you need to hold " No machine in my gym to do them and I used to love doing those.

"its nothing to do with the exercises. keep doing what you are doing and consume less calories. The lower abs are always the last to show All about diet" As I said, it's more to do with core strength than how I look as I'll never have a six pack. A strong core means a strong back and in my job, I need it.
