Depends what you like, but I'd highly recommend House of Leaves by Mark Z Danielowski. It's a horror with a Sci Fi element and unlike anything else I've ever read. It's very weird and possibly not for everyone.

OK, I'll also recommend Megahex, which is a compendium of short comic strips about a witch and her anamorphic friends who spend their lives getting stoned and having sex and and taking the piss out of each other. They would probably fit in on the forums.

Earlier this year I read Brotherless Night by V.V. Ganeshananthan. It's a coming of age novel at the outbreak of the Sri Lankan war. I found it deeply moving - the way you survive and find meaning even when things seem impossible to live through.

It's more of a horror just elements of Sci Fi, but if that's your thing then I can recommend it, but you will never have read anything like it, and I say that with absolute confidence.

I've just had a delivery.

Chilean Poet by Alejandro Zambra, The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa, and The Labyrinth of the Spirits by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.

I'm trying to read more in translation, spread my literary wings a bit.
