Tbh, the food isn't that bad. You get what you pay for. Hubby loves the real ales. It's the d*unks that I don't like. They've been on the cheap beer all day and it's doesn't make for a nice atmosphere.

Let's not forget the number of other pubs that they put out of business. A high street is very rarely improved by the opening of a spoons. But because we know the cost of everything and the value of nothing they will keep growing like a fungus.

Well pfffft.

In town, it's not my first choice to meet friends if I'm arranging. But I'll happily meet friends there as a starting point if that's what's occurring.

In a new town/city though, I will absolutely hunt down a Spoons, cause it's an 'old reliable' for me, there's not going to be too far to get to one, and they do broadly have a good choice of ale on at bloody good prices.

One of the problems is , some of this country hate others being successful

If you don’t like his political views, don’t read them

That aside

Spoons is cheap and cheerful, it’s never pretended to be anything else

5 pints of doom bar -£10.50

£30 at your local pub

The food is cheap , but not bad

It’s a gap filler

But you don’t go there expecting a Waldorf Salad

Spoons were a revelation to me when I met my partner 8 years ago who often ate in them when staying away. I‘ll admit that I looked down on them in the past.

They’re still not my choice for a night out, but if you just want a bite to eat or a quick drink then the ones I’ve been to are absolutely fine.

Quite often use The Standing Order before going to footy with my mate and we’ve met some great people in there.

Great business model and obviously fills a gap in the market due to their ongoing success.

That said, our local village pub, which costs around £6.00 a pint and doesn’t do food is still our favourite as it’s in walking distance and is where our friends and community meet together.
