ad my mobile number put on a fake profile advertising for tv /ts /bi / gays

any1 else had this happen? had to take all our pics off !!!!!!!

I should imagine the site owners have done all they can, having someones E-mail address which is probably hotmail won't make any difference I don't suppose.

Good to have a warning though, and at least sim cards are not too expensive to get rid of the problem now.

just a thought but it might be quicker to delete profile and reinvent yourself anyway if your not losing verifications etc ....just a thought

Can symapthise with you guys its happened to me but on another site with my full name, home town and mobile number, for all to see in the chatrooms. Contacted the site but the chatrooms aint moderated or recorded. So could do nothing about it.....one thing i did do though was gave them an e-mail of the person who i thought it was. Would you beileve it he was registered on that site, thats how i had proof of this single guy who was stalking me. Not pleasant but as said before 'what goes around comes back around'

Not nice at all and in fact could be quite scary. If you didnt advertise your number how did thay get it ? do you know ? We agree with the lady above on the list if you want to use a number get a cheap Pay as you go mobile £10 -£15 one purley to use as a porn phone. You can get replacement SIM cards on the net (Ebay) for 50p buy a bunch at a time and if any one dose give you any hastle take it out throw it away and insert anouther one.

Whats scary is how thay managed to get your number/details if you didnt advertise them or tell them ? Is it some one you have all ready meet up with ?

Mine was sumone i had already met up with, but the scarey thing was, where had he got one of my pics from (face pic). Found out that he had put a false name on facebook and collected them from there.

We had been chatting to a single guy on here for sometime and all seemed fine so after a while we chatted on the phone, msn and as he was what we were looking for when he asked us for a cpl of pics we thought why not as we had arranged to meet him the following week..

A very good friend of ours phoned us telling us our pics were on another site with all our personal details and on having a look the pics were the ones id sent him only a few days b4, the reason i knew this is because those pics had only been sent to that one guy and were never sent to anyone else and not loaded onto any other site by us.....

We contacted him and asked why he had done it and his reply was he was using the pics as his own as he does all the tile when cpls send him pics and to add he stated the pics on his fab profile wasnt of him anyway...i will however add we did sort it out and to cut a long story short he is paying the price and is regretting it...lmao..stella

there is one way I know of contact owners here they can request that the ppl they got site from check there server database could take some time though possible x The fake profile u mentioned however could also be random email they've set up too so when you've done that they can get there ip address then company they've got as in broadband providor n trace that way .Or if you revieved an email from them you can retrace the email to where it was sent best wishes .

A usefull free tool to keep in mind is (whois) it can trace in around 20 seconds around the globe hope this is helpfull

Its why were surprised Numbers were allowed on ads being honest... so open to abuse.

So many ways to get around this ip thing..

If someone wants to hide they can.. you can change your ip in 2 minutes.... Or even hide behind others.

I used to have a mate who piggy backed one of his neigbours broadband...they had unprotected wireless.

He used all their unlimited downloads to down load movies and music - used to leave it runing all day.

So am sure if he did something like as said above - it would be the poor unwitting neighbours who would get the blame????

very true however with ip your main one to your providor doesn't alter though ,Even if you could catch one of the ip as u say can change it n run a spider of multiple chain of ip's it will get you to a providor in short time besides the who is function still gets through to location of address in seconds just write it down then download force find I think it's called or brute force type in there ip then it'll scan for it once found click all done .Yeah half ppl don't know how to really setup wifi to easy to loggin to anothers hub it's scarey how easy technology makes things out to be . There is free wifi access around everywhere type in google free wifi hotspots it'll come up with a list select your chosen area now what these are is some ppl will let you use there wifi free just register or companys enable you to a lot aswell you don't need any passwords either .

Our ip one minute shows us living in Edinburgh, then Glasgow.. and when it does sometimes show us as in Nottm shows us living about 7 miles away... Even our cable company fixed the wrong box when we were running slow speeds lol..

If you have wi-fi and certain routers you can change your ip in less than two minutes.. forcing your supplier to give you a new one each time..

Even leaving your computer off for over 24 hours will result in a new one being issued by your supplier..

Love to see if you can tell us where we are.... Virgin couldn't and they send us the bill ff's lol..

Not all ip's change after a period

Quite a few peeps have static ip addresses that never change.
