Washing the car

I spent a good few hours yesterday afternoon washing and waxing my car.

I wonder if this is still a normal Sunday afternoon activity for people, or do you now like to take to the local car wash. Of course there is even the option of taking to the local east Europeans for a full wash and valet £10.

I personally love to spend a few hours caring for my car myself..

Have a man with a van and with all the kit come round every couple of weeks, did use the local garage jet wash but ended up with more water on myself then the car. hubby is not at home enough to do it, not that he would anyway

i dont think it is normal now, when i was a kid it seemed like weekends were for the dad to tinker under the cars bonnet and to wash it

guess modern cars reliability and lots relying on expensive diagnostic equipment rather than spanners has removed the need

Depends on weather if its wet £25 per car but if dry £45 per car as polishes cars with some fancy hd polish.

I love to clean my car.. I think once show season starts and weather is nice it's something I do a few times a week.

I don't like other people washing my car.

When I used to own an old classic, I enjoyed the process of cleaning it…

However now I run just one "everyday" car which I wash and clean when its dirty……

But other than that, its just a car and I have no interest in spending added time beautifying what amounts to nothing more than yet another anonymous looking hunk of metal of a type which many other people have one which looks exactly the same as mine…

my last good car got washed at least 3 times a week. Waxed properly every week and wiped over daily at the minimum.

Even used to wipe dust spots off when I parked it. Lol depends on which car I have.

Currently having kittens about it as someone has stolen my hosepipe. So can't wash it at home.

Mine gets washed when it rains. I'd take it through car wash but I'm scared it would fall to pieces

too lazy

mine gets valeted inside and out for a tenner and with a cafe on site to get a brew whilst it's done

not an eastern european to be seen either

not that that would be an issue as long as they were legally entitled to be working here

Mine gets washed when the missus starts dropping hints like, oh that bird shit on the roof looks darker now than last week, or got grubby hands again shutting the tailgate after putting the shopping in there.

Once told her to wash herself, but when she said ok but I have to do the vacuuming in the house, dusting, general cleaning and tidying and then sort out the clothes for washing, then decide what to cook for a meal, I decided discretion was the better part of valour & made the car very nice and shiny plus vacuumed inside and polished inside too.
