The article actually says the two people concerned are 'Middle aged', so depends on your definition of that as to who it might be....

One way or another Downing St. needs to get a grip of this. If the rumours are false then they should issue a prompt denial and sue the source. If true then they should admit it.

Trying to bury it will only lead to more speculation and when the truth finally does come out (which it surely will) it will be much more damaging for the parties involved.
