So decided to start back on that site and had a message from the creator stating that all messages from guys 14yrs older/younger will be deleted and that any sexual references in messages will not be sent. the intimate encounter filter is due to be removed.

as the creator he wants the site as a dating site.

Anyone else get this message or has some random guy tried to fool me? Lol

I was on pof many moons ago..deleted my account yet keep getting emails saying i've found a match etc.....went back on account still there..canny remember my password or username now though...but lets be fair more peeps on there are on here anyhow...know ive seen a few familiar faces

although that post wasnt direted at me, my reply was along the same lines so hope you dont mind me explaining also.

Ive never had an interest in women, nor meeting couples. Im an eternally faithful person and would never cheat. If i give everything i am into a relationship then thats what id hope to then get in return

Couples on here i am 100% sure your all loved up and have massive trust in each other and it adds a little spice (not that its needed im sure) i just personally would not like the idea of a man i end up falling in love with sleeping with someone else for meaningless sex.

For some fabs fills a need while between relationships. They only meet other singles for sex and not couples etc.

I am in a relationship with someone off here but to be honest we don't swing much at the moment although we have a joint profile here for when we want to.

They have got rid of the inimate encounters section so alot of profiles who only ticked that were deleted (I think). The site owner has put alot of stuff into place gearing away just on there for sex and geared it more to those that want a relationship..

I wouldn't date anyone. A friendly FB is about as far as I'd go, but I don't particularly want that either. In theory it sounds cool and I wish such a thing existed. In reality it doesn't exist. (for me)

I meet couples and singles alone and sometimes with a guy.

Actually, no. The woman I was mid chat with certainly wasn't the 50 shades type, had in depth chats and were due to meet when I got back from holiday- You can filter the 50 shades brigade within about 3 messages.

To be honest, its horses for courses. Fabs is good, and POF is good too. Fabs for MMF relationships, and POF for 121 relationships. Trouble is on POF ... that your 121 meets keep wanting to marry you . I don't have that problem on Fabs. So, on balance, take my advice, stick with Fabs. Having said that, I've had far more 121 sex from POF contacts, than from Fabs contacts

Last time I looked at the site I didn't like the new format...I know its important not to entertain timewasters but one look at the heaving menus (that I'm sure at some point will expect you to enter your shoe size and blood group before being allowed to create a profile), and I went 'no thanks' and promptly decided not to bother.

I don't class myself as a swinger .. i don't do clubs dogging or meet as a couple ... just like one to one to be honest and thats very few and far between.

I'm on POF but to be honest its like FAB without the honesty .. I did have a friend on there whos account was deleted and he got an email saying he had to pay to get it back ... His was a plain and simple account just looking to date nothing serious ... also not looking for initimate encounters. But that didn't save him.

With this new rule, I'm off to delete my account on there. They'll only end up losing the honest members like me. The ones who pretend they just want friendship and then ask for sex will always be on there

Yes it appears to be mostly free.

I think I may have joined the party a bit late though - apparently they have taken away the good bit (intimate encounters option) and the only people on it seem to be crossed eye with webbed feet.

I believe its only as good as the people are in your area. So the more people that joined. The more chance you have of meeting someone you get on with. Even if its just friends you end up as. I know someone whose been with their partner for 15 months and very soon he's going to propose to her. Earlier on in that relationship. That person and his partner nagged me to join and ok. Going by the photo she looked attractive, but the more I got to know her. The more ugly I thought she was as well as a freak.

In person you have a direct yes/no response of they are interested in you. Whereas online you can search what kind of thing you are looking for in someone.

So as an experiment set up another profile looking for intimate encounters. I was inundated! !!

Eventually gave up on it. Too many marrieds and fantasists.
