Their website claims a Scotland for indigenous, ethnic Scots, what about those loyal Scots with Italian surnames for example? | |||

It's a pity, there are a noticable number of English re-enactors who won't go to the Bannockburn re-enactment now 'cos of the horrible reception from a minority of the public - there have been incidents with d*unken public attempting to get onto the 'battlefield' to attack the 'English' army - the fac that the 'English' army is mainly made up of Scots seem to have escaped them! I suppose it's because the re-enactment coincides with the SNP rally & the SnG clowns tag along to do wonderful stuff.. | |||

"I knew about the kilt/plaid/tartan, & about the haggis but whisky?? From what i have read tartan & the plaid are not recorded before the end of the C17th. Have a few descriptions in my books about Scots travelling in Europe. the Local commentator remarked on their outlandish accents/tongue but not on their clothing! Apparently the bagpipes are Spanish, & made it to Britain with Iberian auxilliaries to the Roman Legions. | |||
