Where's your happy place for when you're in a slump?

Feel like the winter SAD is starting to catch up with me now the days are short and generally cloudy.

Being cut off geographically from friends and without a car right now, I'm starting to feel it creping in.

The only remedy I've got is to do a steady jog on the treadmil and then HIIT circuits on a spin bike. It tires me out enough that I might sleep and wake up in a better mood.

Do you have any emotional slump / winter slump happy places?

For me it's getting out into the countryside whenever I can, a meal with a good friend or a good book.

That's true, I do love trying to get to a nature reserve, something magical about sipping a hot drink and watching the world go by at golden hour.

who knows, but it's not raining x

I tend to withdraw when I'm feeling down. I recognise the signs now so I reach out to loved ones and usually a long chat, setting the world to rights, shows me there's light at the end of the tunnel x

That's nice, after a relationship breakdown I'm back in with family - it sucks, but it's nice to chat whilst making Sunday roast

When I’m in a slump I back off from people I listen to my music watch a box set and exercise.

It’s started to happen less and less now thankfully especially after removing toxic people from my life.

In my car in the middle of nowhere where no one can here me blasting pink Floyd at tinnitus inducing volume. Sorry about your lack of car though. Without a car I go to Beaumont park in Huddersfield on the bus because it is right lovely. Have a nice walk which makes me happy

The gym doing some cardio to free my mind and body. At my age doing exercise outdoors is not appealing in this weather.

Being outdoors walking or running. I am happy to do this solo and listen to music, but if I really want to chat through my problems then going with my hubby really helps me to process my issues. However my hubby is still learning whether a logical solution from him is required or whether I just need to express my feelings out loud... it's usually the latter.

I go to the beach and find the joy and happiness that dogs show to be uplifting and joyful.

We go to the beach quite often and a visit to the pub on the walk home is FAB.

Ah to be near the coast, thankfully we have a RSPB site near the river and when I have enough tine I love to cycle down there, favourite thing is to hear all the birds chattering.

lost

I’ve a few that I’d consider myself a frequent flier to

Absolute middle of nowhere with my dogs , watching them running like loons being dogs

Lost in an album or 10 flat on my back on the floor

Or in my wee studio lost in my own little world

Anywhere that stops me thinking too much

Just somewhere the dog is. Doesn't really matter where, he'll cheer me up.

Ideally in the rain with the place to ourselves so I don't have to do the annoying dog owner small talk if I don't want to!
