I admit to using the wink button as I feel it's very gentle / non intrusive way to express my interest. I know lots of people think that it's a lazy way to contact someone.

Is it lazy and do most people just ignore them ?

Most women ignore them. Some couples find them useful. If you're winking men they're more likely to at least notice 💜

You are spot on 👍 Most of the positive responses I've had are from couples...I tend not to wink at men 😉

I like it to guage interest if I'm not sure, get a wink back and it's usually a good sign 😊

Thanks, that's exactly what I like about it

I definitely don’t ignore them , I see them the same as you OP. I always have a look at anyone who’s winked me just to see if there’s anything there.

I’m always perplexed by people who wink with an empty profile though. What am I supposed to be looking at ? Lol

Used to ignore winks but these days I message asking what the wink for, especially when it's from someone who's profile says they aren't looking for guys

A wink from a guy who isn't looking for guys is especially hot

I send a wink to show an interest, occasionally send a message with it as well. If I get a wink back then I'll definitely message to thank them and see where it goes.

It’s a shame that so many people have a bit of a stigma about wink use, as used properly they’re a great tool to show interest and save everyone time.

So many people get upset about “cut and paste” messages from men in particular and expect a unique piece of prose every time someone messages them, yet most men experience the majority of their messages being left unanswered.

So what’s the incentive to spend ages crafting a unique message to a profile on here if it’s going to be ignored?

With a properly functioning wink system, you send a wink and if it’s reciprocated THEN it’s your chance to impress (or not!) with your unique message.

As it is the wink system only really works now if you’re a woman winking a man (we get so few that winks still do stick out for us)

As some have said I use the wink system to show my interest in a profile. If I get one back then let's have a chat and see where we get to.

When I recieve them I look at the profile and if there is something to read and pics to look at then I will send one back and maybe a message. If the profile is a shadow pic and no words then I just ignore.

So please keep winking.

Probably the wrong way of doing it but if I think you're hot, I'll fab. If I think you're REALLY hot, I'll wink.

I use them now and then if I have interest in a profile but I have to admit I don't always check through mine.

We like winks as a 'soft touch' way to say we like what we see, and usually respond to most we get from couples.

"I can wink my asshole. Do I get a prize "

That’s sounds more like a lucrative career if you wanted it to be

I've been here nearly a year now and only really started to use the 'wink' option - like you say, it's a gentle way to show your interest
