I think there's quite a few people on here who use traditional SLR cameras or equipment beyond the smartphone capability. And it shows: some of the output I've seen from people, particularly couples, is amazing.

I just use my smartphone but it's equipped with Hasselblad™ lens and optics.

I use my phone camera, the picture quality is a lot better on my phone than on this site. I'm guessing that's the price I pay for not being a site supporter.

I tend to use a 360° camera and then edit back to a standard flat image as this allows a bit more flexibility on getting an acceptable composition whilst taking my pictures on my own.

You can get 35mm slide to digital scanner from Amazon for about £60 upwards. Not sure what the quality is like though

Phone cameras vary a lot but generally love lots of light. Full cameras dslr/mirrorless will handle low light better generally but you are more likely to have phone with you. Action cams are great for video and photo can be ok but below good phone, proper camera.

If no one to press shutter button put phone on a tripod or propped up and use a Bluetooth shutter button.

On a phone if using zoom stick to the actual optical zoom as digital zoom will usually look worse.

Either way you can do a lot in the editing stage afterwards, even if just on a phone.

Phones are great but they lack the versatility of a camera. They also can't be used with flash, which can create some fantastic moody photos. I am really quite new to photography but I'm enjoying my journey. However, the biggest things that will help are someone to take the photos, nice surroundings, good outfits/props, and light. Light is really really important. With the right light phones can do a great job, but with a camera you can change lenses so they are much more versatile.

Plenty of pros would do it for you, for a price, just look for someone who specialises in boudoir photography. I want a pro to do some for me, as a pro will notice naff things in the photo that me or a friend would probably miss.

I'm lucky as I've found a married couple who are both in to photography and are pretty good. They have a home studio, 35mm SLRs and lighting rigs. He's taken some good photos of me straight and she's taken some fab photos of me dressed up.

Phones have their place, but SLRs are excellent

I've got a scanning device from Amazon which you load the negatives in to and it scans them to your computer/laptop as a JPEG, they vary in price, mine was £80 ish but you can get cheaper or pay more for a branded product.
