With the weather being rubbish and the days being shorter who is looking at their 2026 summer holiday destinations? Where do you loved to go that’s perhaps lesser known or under appreciated in your opinion?

I thought Lombok island off Indonesia was stunning.

My favourite destination is The Gambia but that's a winter holiday.

Our first holiday next year will probably sound boring as most have probably visited numerous times or because they have seen Everyman and his dog on social media there and want to avoid it like the plague but we’re off to Dubai. Our eldest becomes an “adult” next year so it will probably be our last holiday all together and that’s where they’ve always wanted to visit. Hopefully it lives up to their expectations

We absolutely LOVE Dubai, have been there a number of times and we never fail to find something new to do, what sort of thing are you guys interested in?

I rarely go on holiday during the summer, I prefer to go earlier/later in the year.

In fact I’m going on a Canaries cruise in 2weeks time.

Next year I’ve got 10 nights in Lanzarote booked for my birthday in April (the big 50). And then I’m hoping to go to the Caribbean in October.

Chasing the winter sun not a bad approach, we tend to try and top up the sun in our bones over winter too

It also tends to be cheaper, avoiding the school holidays etc

Have you need to Vegas before? We enjoyed the shows but not being big gamblers that side was wasted on us 🤷‍♂️

Hi c here , as G says we’ve been to Dubai a fair amount ( I’m guessing we’ve spent 5/6 months there in total in the last 2/3 years )

Happy to make suggestions and recommendations if you want any help planning

Especially as there is just so much to do !

I wish I could afford more regular holidays, but I'm going away in September (family chose it, hoping it will be a little cooler) to Lanzarote.

My first holiday abroad with mum and siblings, so that should be "fun"

Flights don't have to be expensive my last two to Vietnam - 350 and 470 & the savings in country on food, travel & accom off sent the flight cost after a few days! Timing is important & having the mindset to transfer and do fairly long layovers sometimes. Personally I prefer it have a dragon lounge pass and like a break on long haul
