"Oh the good old days of the pop man and what about the chip van that used to come round. Yeah we had a great mobile chippy years ago. It was an old clapped out van with a coal fired range inside. Christ you always knew when he was there - the black smoke and shite that came out of the top was nobodys business, but the chips were great - cooked in good old fashioned lard of course The guy progressed to a shop after that, his chips were still good, but we missed the old van " The chippy van still goes round my area and they will wrap up in newspaper if you supplied your own. Cheap as well £3.50 for a fish supper!! | |||
