Ethical alternative to Spotify?

Spotify are being massive cockwombles by not paying artists enough, but also CEO Daniel Ek is funding Israel weaponry.

Now this might not have anything to do with swinging you might think? But I love a kinky playlist and would like to have a guilt free shag to some schmexy songs.

So, what's an ethical alternative?

Not Amazon or apple.

I'm trying out Qobuz but it's not great.

Download some mp3s onto a cd?

Apple has a streaming service too doesn't it?

But I have a very silent and sturdy reinforced wooden frame

They'll just have to call me filthy names a little louder.

I suppose the only ethical option would be to buy a cd from a shop, then rip it to your computer. That way the artists gets a bigger cut of the money and you get a high quality file that will play on any device without restrictions or subscriptions.

Or you could buy them from charity shops. But the artists would not receive any money from you.

Or, as a final

Option, you can download the music illegally.

Personally I buy my cds, rip them, then destroy them. I have a large and growing media library that I can use when I want without adverts or subscriptions. It fantastic.

So I think those are your options

"Spotify are being massive cockwombles..."

I think I read they're also raising prices imminently.

Why is Qobuz falling short so far?

Short of rolling your own solution, which vanishingly few people are going to want to do, I'm afraid it's pretty much picking a poison you're prepared to tolerate.

On Spotify, a musician needs to be knocking out over 520,000 streams a month, just to make minimum wage.

Plus there's AI bots that steal their name and mimic their work. I wish I was joking. But I'm not.

I'm not sure if it's for streaming either. Stop streaming maybe?

Qobuz is alright and apparently they pay artists 40% more than Spotify does.

Maybe I just don't the way their algorithm is working.

I am probably being fussy.

by the big field

Tidal, QoBuz, Deezer & Bandcamp are where many artists and listeners are heading more towards- as well as Apple Music.

Depends on your definition of 'Ethical', but all of them are going to be an improvement over being owned by a guy who wants to increase his already excessive fortune made by ripping off bands, by developing weaponry.

Personally, i'm old school and just buy CD's mainly

I don’t think he’s funding Israel. He has a stake in Helsing Ai defence but there’s still no connection between Helsing and Israel.

Probably best not to get your news off of Facebook

Do you have a pension? If so you are probably funding Israel weaponry though.

Well once they have been copied to my media server (which just an old pic) I don’t need them any longer. And reselling them feels wrong, so I destroy them once I have a copy.

Honestly, having your own music collection you can access when ever you want without restrictions is amazing! It does cost more then £10 per month through. I now have almost all the music I want, certainly all the important albums.

lost

I only use Spotify to check stuff out and to play when travelling around purely because it’s handy .

I’m old and still use physical copies , vinyl mostly since my teens and maybe a few hundred cd’s .

Can offer no alternatives in a digital front

Self employed, not using a pension company. Will probably be working til the very end. Or we will all be dead before I get to that age.
