"When I was actively looking for new meets, I put a great deal of effort into the blurb on my profile...only because I thought it would help men understand why they had been blocked after messaging me. I did try to keep it positive, trying to focus more on what I was looking for rather than list the things I was not into/looking for. Made absolutely no difference. Despite clearly not being compatible, men would still message stating they are the exception to the rule.... I very quickly learned that men seem to just look at the profile pics and hit 'message'...while unzipping and having a wee fiddle while thinking about a meet while typing out a message. " That made me laugh but probably very true too.

"Hi MB, I'd prefer a bio with more writing on, than one with 2 lines. Something that gives me an idea about them and what they are into/not into. I'd take one that has a list of dislikes etc over a blank one everytime. My profile is quite clear and so I like a bit of effort from others." Makes, perfect sence

"Do you sometimes look at a profile and reads like a long rules list of don't this, don't that and just full or negative stuff? I appreciate telling someone what you like and don't like or is not acceptable to you but having just that and nothing else on? It just creates a picture of a rather negative person that would not want to meet, not even socially. Then you get the 'been here before, know the score' or fakes and timewasters stay away' (as if they would listen) or even listing names of timewasters. Each to their own of course and can write their profile as they wish and maybe they have a good rrason to fo so - I am sure some think mine is dire- but I just think writing in a more positive tone, including telling stuff about you as well as what you are looking for, is just better. Obviously just my opinion and no offence meant to anyone. " Unfortunately I found it necessary to put the negative stuff up front in the first few lines, that is because men on here and Fabguys seem incapable of reading past the first couple of lines.

"Our approach is to attempt to create an honest & balanced profile. Too much of the utterly fabulous is just bragging. Not enough honesty about what you don't want gets you a string of messages from those that aren't going to match what you hope for. There's nothing wrong with just being politely honest. A list of don't wants, could mean a person has been badly burned before. Enough bad experiences surely makes a person want to say more about what they don't like, to avoid being in a similar situation again. Just an opinion. Trying to look at it from all sides." I think that is quite a balanced approach that includes everything rather than just ghe 'negative' stuff only.

"personally my profile changes a lot... then again i find it hard to describe myself. I usually find though, it doesnt matter what i write either negative or positive... i get mailed anyway... i could have in big letters i onyl want single guys... but i still get the married ones messaging me... or the guys seeking a submissive etc etc... It's each to their own what they put on a profile. However, i use it as an extra filter to see if would someone what get along or not. "

"Long, ranty profiles that seem quite jaded with it all put me off. I just avoid. " Happy days

"Doesn't matter why I wrote on my profile, the majority of people didn't read it, or did read it and ignored what I wrote." Glad its not only us that has this issue

"I'm here for fun, not for drama or negativity. However not every negative profile belongs to a negative person, the lovely Prey above is one of those & I love her negative profile. After having my singles profile I can totally see why so many are negative - even with my profile header as "this profile is allergic to penis" the penis were still persistent. Mrs "
