I asked my work collegue 'if you won £10 million on the lottery, would you come to work next week'? He said 'No way'! I said 'I would, because I told the agency I would cover the post untill they get a permanent electrician'. And so I will keep my word. I remember when a load of bus drivers won on a syndicate and the bus driver(s?) quite literally quit in the middle of carrying passengers. Thus leaving passengers stranded. So unprofessional and shocking.

But I would also have to tell my boss at least that there might be a reason I can’t come in if someone found out and my security or that of my colleagues or the wider public was put as risk as I work in the public sector

I’d probably honour the work I’ve got booked in already, those people were good enough to trust me to carry out their work and others like them have kept me in business for 20 years so I owe it to them, would probably take on a few more people temporarily to lighten the load then as others have said get the fuck out of this utter shithole

After making sure that my loved ones were comfortable & sorted, I’d do something that I wanted to do like open a deli or a book shop or a restaurant. I think it’s about doing what you want to do regardless of the restrictions that age/experience/salary place on us.

I dont understand peoples loyalty to employers, saying they'd work out any contract. Your employer doesn't give a flying fuck about you and would get rid of you in a blink if they coukd save themselves a penny.

I'd just upsticks and go, somewhere remote. My parents are dead, cant stand my siblings, so there's nothing holding me down. My daughter would be set for life.

I am basically semi retired anyway so I would pretty much carry on living the life I do now as it works for me. The work I do do is because I am interested in it so that wouldn’t change.

I would just dump all the money in the stock market and leave it to compound up as I don’t really need it. It would just become a decent nest egg for the kids. They will have to work for a few years first so they can appreciate what they get when they finally get it.

Within a couple of years he’d spent the lot, his wife left him and he became ill and never recovered.

I play the lottery occasionally but be careful what you wish for!

I'd pay for my local pub to open an hour earlier.

I've got enough greedy friends so not telling them. . I would send them money anonymously and see if they say anything.

I'd definitely get a funeral plan because I'd be dead in a month.

Apparently people who win the lottery tend to loose it all and end up worse than prior. Which is why one should never burn any bridges!

Self employed and pretty much been kept in work for the last 15 years through them so would finish the job i'm doing as have committed to it so can see why others would to.

As for spending,would build a big house exactly how we wanted it and although have good motors would tick one or two off the bucket list.

Loads of hobbies so giving up work would be easy and concentrate on other stuff.

I would finish my contract, make sure the person taking over was up to speed and make sure whatever project I was working on was on track.

Were I just to quit, it would put friends and colleagues under added stress and pressure. I couldn't do that to them

The managers and all my work collegues are really nice and we all get on well. Thats why I would'nt just leave them without making sure all is good.
