So, as an avid forum reader and an occaisional poster.

is it just me who is suprised at the number of people who slate " look at me threads". But then go on to post inane threads about going shopping or "i'm tired", "just got a new car" "you won't beleive what i just did" etc type threads. surely these type are exactly the same thing? attention seeking?

There seem to be some serious double standards on here, or do you need to be part of the "in crowd" to get away with it?

I don't look at the personal threads about what someone is having for tea, I like the ones that are proper discussions about a news topic or tv programme.

The look at me threads that are moaned about are people who don't post threads often and then do so with the intention of getting people to look at their profile such as "I've been told my cock is too big" that's the difference.. People who post to say they had beans for tea, there isn't a need to look at someones profile for that.

You can get the feel of a person from there posts here ... And some are just full of fun ..... light hearted fun just to pass the day with a smile .. and some do make me smile ... some make you think ooooo no not again ... some make you think god how boring , lol and some there words stay in your head for weeks after .

I don't look at the personal threads about what someone is having for tea, I like the ones that are proper discussions about a news topic or tv programme.

The look at me threads that are moaned about are people who don't post threads often and then do so with the intention of getting people to look at their profile such as "I've been told my cock is too big" that's the difference.. People who post to say they had beans for tea, there isn't a need to look at someones profile for that.

I can sort of see where you are coming from, there are some posts which seem to be taken totally out of context, and get the smilies, or a "Yawn"/"Popcorn" comment. And then there are some threads which may appear to be fawned over (for want of a better phrase) by those you may see as the "in crowd".

But I believe it is just that the people you may see as the "in crowd" are people who regularly use the forums and have gotten to know each other on here or know each other in real life.

After all is said and done, I don't get the whole "Yawn", "It's been said 1000's of times before", just don't read something if you don't like it! It's not rocket science.

I don't see the need for people to post so negatively as it comes across as unfriendly and as far as I am concerned forums would be a very dull place if different people didn't come along and have their say.

So as you said you are an avid reader and only an occasional poster, why not start doing more posts?

And the same to those who lurk, just jump in and have fun
