god, I love toast !!!

with butter and marmalade...

I walk the dogs then rush home and have my toast ... it's a routine now.

all set up for the day now..

bring on the sex.....

There is an art to toast and marmalade you know. A definite ritual and the marmalade must be dark , bitter and with thick peel.

K offered to make me tea and toast in bed this morning then we reaslised we forgot to buy any spread yesterday and its snowing like crazy at the moment so dont fancy a trip in to the village to buy some so guess I'll have to make do with rabbit food for brekkie now

I just disovered Asda Extra Valencia Marmalade, not dark but fab.. 66% fruit..

and this old fruit loves his gums round more fruit....

Not a fan of marmalade, except on fried slice.

I love toast with Marmite, peanut butter, strawberry jam (with or without peanut butter), Mayo (yup, try it and see).

I would wait until the toast is cooler first before I apply the butter, so that it does not make the toast soggy (no butter for Mayo though).

I too have to cool my toast before putting anything on it, preferably in a rack or propped up on its side to let the steam out and keep it crisp.

Marmalade is just sooo bleeeeurgh! Yuk, hate the stuff yet I love oranges. And as for marmite! The guy who thought that one up was one sick individual, totally warped!

The alsation is a bit fussy, if she gets a piece which isn't dripping with butter, and a little bit crisp, she drops it on the floor and the bulldog gets it. The bulldog isn't fussy at all - he'll have his toast any which way it comes

Mine likes toast too, however, he likes it because of the cruchy texture, as he likes cruchy things, like biscuits, cheesestraws, crips etc...

I can only eat wholemeal bread when it is really fresh and soft.

Try it and see. It is really nice on toast!!!

The toast has to be cooled first though, otherwise it would melt the mayo and makes it all soggy!

I would sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top to give it an extra oomph!

Things must have come on a lot since I last ate white bread. The only white bread I've tasted in years has been the 'white bread sandwiches or nothing' crap sometimes served at conferences and meetings and, to be fair, I don't suppose that's a good reflection of quality.

White bread is the dough of the devil! Tho being a greedy person I eat without complaint ( if you are taller than me that is )

Toast has to be stoneground wholemeal .... the very best being a wholemeal made by one of the t.v cooks can't remember his name but I love his soda farls too .. white stodgy and smelling of baking heaven.

After View seduced me with his toast post I toasted some fruit bread, loaded it with butter and 3 fruit marmalade;washed it down with tons of hot tea. Dirtily Delicious !
