Whats your excess? Might be cheaper getting a 2nd hand one if its high or look at these guys who put new screens in as an alternative as Samsung do lots of spares.

If only... I dropped it about 6_12" from the sun lounger, if I had it on the grass it might not have happened...

I dropped mine the other week too. Thankfully it didn't shatter like yours but i have a nice crack across it. No insurance here though Going to have to put up with it for a while as they are over £100 to repair. Why do they have to make these phones with glass screens its ridiculous !!!!!

The plan is...see how much excess excessive have to pay... If it's £100 I'm going to repair it myself, screen purchased just need a hot air gun or hairdryer

I've been bloody lucky, my phone takes regular tumbles and has thus far lived to tell the tale, galaxy s3 with no screen protector.

My excess was only 25quid on my S3 when I smashed the outer glass. I was insured through my bank (Halifax) and it was a right load of bollox. It took their insurers almost a week to send out the forms then I had to post the phone away to one address and send the claim form to somewhere else. To be fair after I'd sent the phone away it was back within 3 days as good as new and flashed with new firmware. I'd previously rooted it and rebranded it from 3 to o2 but because it was rooted it would no longer allow me to upgrade the firmware over the air, so dropping it and smashing the screen has solved that issue as well. Job done !
