Can anyone recommend a good book? Quite like something set in the past, sex, fantasy… that sort of thing. I’ve read the series with the word “Thorns” in it. For the life of me I can’t remember its name!

The Raven Kennedy series would be right up your street for that genre

Reading

If you liked Court of Thorns and Roses, then you might like Fourth Wing or the Zodiac Academy series.

"You might like Quicksilver by Callie Hart ... Fantasy, realms and sex... "

Or even Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson, book one of the Baroque Cycle.

Fingersmith, by Sarah Waters is one of my favourite books. The moment I started it I couldn’t put it down. I was so down in to it, that I walked past my workplace while reading it. At one point, around half way through, I was so disgusted with one of the main characters decisions, that I threw the book down on the seat next to me and shouted “NO!” at it. This was on the London Underground!

It’s a fantastic story beautifully told and I can not recommend it enough.

My wife reads a lot of fantasy smut, as I call it. They're set in fabtasy settings with lots of sex and not the softcore Mills and boon time.

If that sounds like your thing check out c.m nascosta

Ankh-Morpork

If you liked the court of thorn and roses but want more fantasy along those lines the same author has the throne of glass series (you’re several books in before n there’s any real smut but it’s very good), and the crescent city (also related to the acotar series).

Fourth wing - if hogwarts and how to train your dragon were smut and had a baby with hunger games

A touch of darkness - Hades x Persephone series

Zodiac academy - again a few books in before the smut starts

Guild - Midas series

Fantasyland by Kirsten Daniel’s - much more smut

Quicksilver - fantasy fae smut

Never after series - the villain gets the girl. Hooked is a great book

Four horsemen series - war, famine, pestilence and Death

If you decide you want more sex than plot or you fancy going darker into the genres then give me a shout. For now these are fairly tame and along the same levels as ACOTAR

Oh FFS... I've just realised the ACOTAR/book link...

And the Snag tights make more sense as to upon what they're based 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Camberley occasionally doncaster

I would recommend the 'First Law' series by Joe Abercrombie. It's a very grimdark world, but it also has some of the best written characters I've ever read. Very British dark, dry sense of humour.
