How do you get over it when you get it?

I’ve asked before but I’ve forgotten

Work with it.

What comes up for you?

Where do you feel it?

What’s the trigger underneath?

I’ve got under control , I get very jealous when I’m into someone…. I try not to let it be a negative and keep it in …. When it rears its head I use humour and make a joke about …… what did the chicken say to the egg 😂

I don’t think it’s something that should impact your relationships so well done on not exactly letting it. But I don’t like feeling it.

It’s normal to feel jealous, as long as you don’t let it control you...I should take this advice myself lol

Poke it a bit to see if the cause is their behaviour or my personal insecurities, then decide what I want to do about it. If it's their behaviour I cut and run. If it's my insecurity I work on being my own safe space and think soothing thoughts and ride the wave until it subsides.

Be honest and open about it

Both to yourself and towards whatever situation is causing it

I am not afraid or ashamed to admit my jealousy

It's a far bigger demon when bottled

Understand where it's coming from, try not to let it control you and ultimately use it to better yourself if you can.

It’s there for a reason, and knowing what that is, where it originates, can help move through it.

Why are you jealous? What triggers that response?

If you don't know that, there's no help.

I should probably clarify, I am, in general, not jealous

Certain situations do bring it out in me though

I don't shy away from it when I feel it approaching

Is the reason one that's it's rational to be upset about?

Jealousy comes in many forms and happens for many reasons.

Some are simple and nothing important. Have a joke, kiss and sex eachother up til you're back on an even keel.

But other forms of jealousy are toxic and stem from more serious relationship problems and/or internal personal problems.

If you're feeling jealous, why are you?

Are you not getting what you need from your partner? Time? Affection? Words of affirmation?

Are you not occupying the position you need to in their life?

Or are you never satisfied?

Do you need to control and own?

When agreements are broken or when you are deliberately and specifically being left out 💜

Depends if it’s rational or irrational. Rational then sort out whatever the problem is with the other person.

If it’s irrational then it’s a you problem.

Only you will know either way

Tell myself it's a normal human emotion and there are no invalid emotions, but it's what you do with it that counts.

And that's why I have tantrum and thrown all of my toys out of the pram.

I can relate. I’m fine and dandy being single until I watch a period drama with romance in it and then I feel a bit 🥺
