I'm sure this can be turned off and thought the default was "Do not show friends list to others" or similar

Pretty sure I did too. Only because my ex used to stalk my page.

But generally I dont see an issue with it being visible.

Ive never looked at a profile and felt the need to check who they are friends with

It’s open by default, but it doesn’t show on a mobile browser so many don’t realise.

Google search is also open by default too.

We hid ours after a guy messaged every couple and single female claiming that he knew us and that we said to message them for meets as we vouched for him.

Yeah, I remember seeing this being surprised as I only use mobile but I turned it off anyway. I'm not sure why it's a feature to be honest as it's no one's business who I'm friends with 🤔
